Through the tour in Can Det you will see a clear example of the declaration of the Serra de Tramuntana as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The so-called Outstanding Universal Value coincides with the activity of Can Det both in the way of cultivating the ancient olive trees on the terraces of the mountains of the valley of Sóller and in the irrigation systems of its orange plantations. It is a sample of the human adaptation to the territory for centuries forming the current cultural landscape. Tasting the oil from olive trees more than 1000 years old is a unique experience.

What To Expect
Throughout the year the visits will consist of seeing the 400 year old historic house of Can Det with its imposing garden and the oil mill that preserves the traditional oil production system. Afterwards we will offer a tasting of our oil with other typical products and our own orange juice in the dining room of our house. As an example it includes typical Mallorcan bread, "ramallet" tomatoes, olives, almonds, orange jam etc. We will explain in detail the activity of the family linked to the traditional cultivation of ancient olive trees, citrus and oil production. In addition, an audiovisual presentation of the oil production process will be shown. Visits between October and January might be able to contemplate the production of the oil live deopending on the availability of olives. The visit does not include our orange and/or olive tree plantations. If you wish an extra visit there you need to contact us in advance and we explain you how could be arranged and the cost.

5.00Wonderful tour! Our family, with small children enjoyed this magical tour in Soller. Everything was perfect. We enjoyed the history, seeing the equipment used for processing the oil, and the lovely tastings of Mallorcan food. The staff were so friendly, welcoming, and accommodating to our small kids. It was easy to find and walkable from the train station. Lovely time, you won’t regret booking!

5.00We really enjoyed this tour, Tomeu welcomed everyone into his home and shared his passion for Mallorca and the traditional methods. It was very interesting, tasting the olive oil and other home made products was great and we felt as though we learned a lot. Highly recommended if you are in the area.

5.00Two weeks ago we visited Can Det and had an informative and fun tour of Tomeu in this beautiful family business. The tour ends with a delicious tasting with of course the olive oil but also other products that are grown. Definitely recommended to visit here!

5.00We were allowed to spontaneously participate as a family in a guided tour, which was carried out in addition to the fixed daily tour. We were warmly welcomed and felt really welcome. We were allowed to ask questions and the tasting had the charm and character of being at table with a Majorcan family. The oil mill itself is impressive and the olive oil is fine. This is the last traditional oil mill in Mallorca and still a family business. You do not have an online shop, but ship 5-liter containers on request.

5.00We had a Tomeu and his son took us to the family olive and orange farm, where they shred their great knowledge and amazing set up. We then joined the tour party for the tour of the Olive mill and delicious local product and their own. They made us feel very welcome and would be sure to go back again.
