Spectacular mountain hike in Bergen. We start from Bergen city center and walk together up Stoltzekleiven path to the Sandviken weather vane in the mountains. It will take us about 1,5 hours. From the top we will enjoy beautiful view of Bergen and the fjords, before we walk back via another path passing mountain lakes and unspoiled nature. Total duration approximately 3 hours.

What To Expect
We start at 9 or 10 a.m. or other suitable time in Bergen city center, meeting in front of Radisson Blu Royal Hotel. We will walk together via some of the cozy streets in Bergen with typical wooden houses, all the time slightly up the hill to the starting point of the steep path up Stoltzekleiven leading to the mountain Sandviksfjellet and the weather vane (1247 feet or 380 m ASL). After about 30 minutes walking we will go up the steep path, which mostly consists of local stones. The last part is a wooden staircase. We will have good time, and make as many stops on the way as we will need. We will use about 45 minutes on this part. On the top, we will enjoy the spectacular view of Bergen city and the fjords and we will have a short rest before we continue. Rest of our tour will be down the hill. We will pass beautiful mountain lakes and small waterfalls and we walk together via another path back to Bergen city center. Total duration of the tour is 3-3.5 hours. Fitness level which is necessary for this hike is slightly above moderate. We will do about 900 steps up.

5.00I had an incredible experience hiking Stoltzekleiven, and it was made even better thanks to our amazing guide, Vlad. He was extremely patient, ensuring my son and I felt comfortable throughout the journey. His extensive knowledge and experience shone through, as he provided interesting insights about the trail and the surrounding area. The views from the top were absolutely breathtaking, making every step of the climb worth it. Vlad brought us down a different path that was along side a flowing stream. The entire experience was amazing. I would, however, note that this hike requires a fitness level slightly above moderate. It’s a bit challenging but very rewarding. If you're up for a memorable adventure, I highly recommend this hike with Vlad as your guide!

5.00We had a lovely hike with Vlad. He gave us some history of the area, took us through some great spots, with beautiful views at the top. He even brought great snacks and a beverage for our rest. My only regret is not doing the longer hike!
