Capture that quintessential Hawaiian sunset from 9,740 feet elevation atop Mt Haleakala, Maui's volcanic peak in Haleakala National Park on the east side. Most visitors opt for the sunrise, so why not consider an evening spectacle to watch the celestial display bathe its light over Maui's lowlands?

Haleakala is known for rapidly changing weather conditions and dense clouds and rain are common. As a result, clear viewing of the sunrise is not guaranteed, and the tour operates rain or shine. Refunds will be granted only when the tour is cancelled for safety reasons.
The high altitude at the summit area may complicate health conditions and breathing difficulties. Elderly visitors, pregnant women, young children, and those with respiratory or heart conditions should consult their doctor prior to touring. Walk slowly and drink water to avoid dehydration. If you have gone scuba diving, you should wait at least 72 hours before going on this tour.

Very good experience. Their driver was very entertaining. He was also a very safe ride up and ride down. The food from Kula Lodge was also delicious! Unfortunately the he weather did not cooperate. It was very cloudy so we did not see the sunset.

The driver was knowledgeable about the culture and history of Haleakala. The meal was great and the experience once we reached the top was great. At the onset of the tour, after getting picked up at our hotel in Lahaina, we went to a secondary meeting location so that we could merge into one group. My only complaint is that we waited at this location for over an hour. They turned off the shuttle and it was 85 degrees so very hot. It was so windy it was difficult to stand outside. We were at a Safeway but we were never sure when the other shuttle was arriving so we didn’t want to venture off. It is already a long day, maybe there is a way to time this part of the tour a bit better.

This was an last minute plan for us and we didn't regret it. Randall (I hope i got your name right) was a great host. He drove us to the top skillfully while sharing his knowledge and his personal experiences of growing up in Maui. We enjoyed the sunset at 10,000 ft atop haleakala while having dinner. The crater wasn't visible due to cloud/ fog but we enjoyed the views despite that.

Convenient pickup. Drivers are helpful and considerate. So lucky to see sunset and moon rise at the same time.

5 and a half hour round trip to the top of Haleakala. There was enough time - almost 90 minutes at the top to take in the views and do a small hike. Views would have been nicer if there was no cloud cover which was the case when we had done the sunrise tour some years back.
