So unfortunately, let’s start off with the fact that the bus that was supposed to pick us up never did originally. We had to drive 45 minutes to 2 different locations to get picked up. The logistics was not good. They are not set up to pick up but yet offer a pick up on the original advertisement. Dispatch was friendly, but seems like communication was bad . I must admit, though to their credit they did give us a 50% discount and apologize for the inconvenience.. This experience is extremely weather dependent. It was drizzling and raining at the top of the mountain so we encountered a lot of fog. Overall, it is worth it. I just feel like it would’ve been a better experience if the weather was better. I’m still glad I made the adventure despite all of the bumps in the road.

This tour is worth it! The sunset was beautiful and worth the long drive. It was so cool to be above the clouds!

I've never been there. The bus forgot about me. I couldn't get postponed or reimbursed. At this rate it was unacceptable

40 degrees and windy at the top; long drive. Worth the time for the great view and the stories along the way.

Preston did an amazing job of explaining the history of not just Haleakala, but of the entire island. Great personality and very personable. We should have brought an extra layer at the viewing spot because it was cold and very windy.

We had some issues on this excursion, with a confusing double pick-up process (some of our group were picked up by another driver, and transferred to the primary bus at a rendevous location), but at that location, the new bus broke down, and we had to wait on repairs and, finally, a new bus. It was frustrating and communication was confusing. In the end, we got a working bus and our driver got us to the top of Haleakala in time for the sunset. Unfortunately, our night at the top of crater was overcast to the point where we could not see the sunset or the crater itself. Visibility was probably 20 feet. Of course the vendor can't control the weather, so we made the best of it and got some cool pics in the wind and clouds. Our driver, Mitchell, was friendly and determined to help us make the most of the experience. So the trip wasn't what we expected, but we would still recommend the experience!

Our sunset tour to Haleakalā with Polynesian Adventure was absolutely breathtaking! The journey was smooth and well-organized, and our guide (Uncle Mitch) was incredibly knowledgeable, sharing fascinating stories and history about Maui and the volcano along the way. Watching the sun dip below the clouds from the summit was an unforgettable experience—peaceful, majestic, and truly magical. Everything from the comfortable transportation to the thoughtful timing and attention to detail made the evening exceptional. Highly recommend this tour to anyone visiting Maui—it’s a once-in-a-lifetime experience you won’t want to miss!

The driver was very informative which made the trip interesting on a rainy day. The dinner was good but the sunset was amazing!
