What To Expect
Chengdu
In the morning, our tour guide will sign your name and meet your hotel lobby at 08:00am or 13:00pm( Normally, we recommended the panda tour should go at the morning, due to have more chance to see the pandas) and transfer to Chengdu Giant Panda Breeding Research Base, need 30 minutes driving, 15km.
Chengdu Research Base of Giant Panda Breeding
Chengdu's Giant Panda Breeding Research Base is home to over 80 of China's iconic pandas. Most are of the familiar black and white variety, but the Base is also home to a number of the smaller, lesser-known red pandas. You'll view the animals eating and at play in a carefully maintained habitat that is as close to their natural environment as possible. You'll also learn how scientists and ecologists are working to protect the few remaining wild pandas and expand the captive population. On that last note, over 100 bears have been born at the Base since 1987. The Base became even more important after the Sichuan earthquake of 2008, with eight bears sent here from the badly damaged Wolong reserve. Your visit provides both moral and financial support for the ongoing conservation effort. An Amazing Panda Experience with Weaver

5.00We had such a great few hours with Weaver exploring the panda park. We’ve visited the pandas in Chengdu before at a different park, but the tour with Weaver was truly exceptional. He is kind, knowledgeable, and funny, with brilliant English. His great sense of humor made the experience even more enjoyable. Weaver knew a lot about pandas and kept us engaged in conversation throughout the trip. He was incredibly thoughtful, even stopping at a chemist to help us get asthma medication. After the tour, he kindly sent us plenty of suggestions for places to visit and eat. When we return to Chengdu, we’ll definitely reach out to him again to help curate another tour.
Definitely recommend Weaver for any tours Chengdu.

5.00Weaver, our tour guide was exceptional. He went above and beyond to show us the city even though it wasn’t part of the tour. It was so easy to communicate with him, he was very knowledgeable about any topic on the city. Best part was he knew exactly where to go to avoid the crowd in the panda research centre, he knows good places to eat and shop as well and helped us avoid tourist traps. Can’t recommend enough!

Make time for the red pandas

5.00We planned a half day trip between Shanghai and Chongching, with a cooking class in the afternoon. Our guide was superb about meeting us at the train station and then about coordinating with the driver who was collecting us back to Chengdu. The red pandas were the highlight of our visit. Super active and interested in engaging people. The younger giant pandas in their enclosures were easy to see and played around like big, slow dogs might. The giant pandas were surprisingly the least interesting. They spend all day sitting in one place, eating their body weight in low nutrition bamboo and defecating. But still, you can't come to this part of China and NOT see the pandas... Expert tip - wait to buy your panda memorabilia on the walk back to your car so you're not stuck lugging it around. And what they offer here is the same as what you see all over China, nothing unique so no need to pay a premium.

5.00They were very responsive. We went during the China holiday period so could not go to Chengdu panda research base but we provided an alternative solution to visit dujiangyan panda base. It was further away but less crowded. Got to see Panda and the red panda. They also accommodated our request to put our luggage in the car and to drop us off directly at the railway station since we were travelling to another city in the evening. Overall a comfortable experience.
Highly recommended for a great day.

5.00We had a half-day Panda visit followed by a half-day sight seeing with our guide Aline. Our guide was excellent. Aline spoke excellent English, was knowledgeable and tailored the trip for our needs and interest. Our driver was also excellent, polite and experienced. Car was practically new and comfortable. This made the short time we had very enjoyable and worthwhile.
