Cycling tours by electric bike are great fun! Electric bikes really take the sting out of the hills and enable groups of mixed ability riders to ride together for an enjoyable day out. We offer a fantastic way to explore the beauty of The Loch Lomond and Trossachs National Park in a spectacular part of Scotland.

Loch Katrine
Our 28-mile bike tour will follow the banks of Loch Katrine on a virtually traffic-free private road to the tiny village of Stronachlacher, where we will stop for lunch at a cafe or picnic (not included), before returning by the same route. Your guide will incorporate stops along the way to share local folklore and legends, spot flora and fauna, pass on tales of historical figures, visit ancient graveyards and film locations, and explain feats of Victorian engineering. Some Scottish treats are available to try.
Stronachlachar
Stronachlacher is a delightful and isolated village on the banks of Loch Katrine, where there is an optional stop for lunch at the Pier Cafe, located in the historical waiting room for the Steamship Sir Walter Scott.

We booked on a group tour and it ended up just the 2 of us and Anna (our guide), so any hesitation we had about keeping up with others was quickly dismissed. Anna explained how the bikes worked and off we went. We had lots of stops on the way to Stronachlachar and she told us all sorts of bits of history about the area. One stop also included a wee dram of whisky and tablet 😀. The cafe we stopped at had amazing food and was a welcome stop. It was also the only time we had any rain!! Having turbo on an e-bike helped with the hills, the roads and paths were really quiet and easy to ride on so 28 miles was a really easy and fun experience. We would highly recommend this tour with Anna, a great way to see Loch Katrine.

We have been on an absolutely fantastic e-bike tour of Loch Katrine. Our guide Anna had great knowledge of both nature, history and culture in relation to the lake, which gave the bike tour an extra boost. The bike tour was a total of about 42 km in a very beautiful area with several small informative breaks along the way, as well as time for coffee and cake or lunch halfway at a nice little café. The e-bikes worked perfectly - we can highly recommend the tour.

Absolutely fantastic tours with Anna! I love cycling but always get put off by hilly areas and by busy roads/cars so this tour was perfect. We started with Anna showing us how to do a safety check of the bike and then we headed off. We stopped all along the route while Anna talked us through the wildlife, plants and the scenery and then we enjoyed a dram of whisky some tablet while enjoying the views. The best part for the turbo function on the bikes for the hills which made the cycling much more enjoyable :)

It was lovely to ride with Anna who showed us great hospitality while sharing her knowledge and experience of the Loch Katrine area and beyond! We felt very well taken care of with her riding expertise and planning and by the end of the tour, we felt like we spent the day with a friend! This was definitely a highlight of our trip to Scotland!

We had a wonderful trip riding around Loch Katrine. Anna was the perfect guide, so informative about the plant life and history of the area. She instructed us exactly how to navigate the hills on the e-bikes and ensured a steady pace for all skill levels. We had a lovely lunch with a tranquil view before heading back. It was an absolutely gorgeous day for a ride and Anna made all the more enjoyable. I would definitely recommend this experience!

I booked this tour for my wife Hazel’s 50th Birthday. It was amazing Anna is so nice, knowledgeable and engaging. We had the best day. I am not a confident cyclist but Anna was patient with me and riding an e-bike was so much easier than a normal bike. We learnt so much from Anna about Loch Katrine and the surrounding area as well as much of the history. We laughed for much of the day and went home feeling it was a day so well spent. Anna also had a cake for Hazel which just made the day even more special. The people at Katrine Bikes were also so friendly and helpful. I would highly recommend Anna and the tour and look forward to going back and doing either this tour again or anymore Anna may organise.
