Alison was incredibly knowledgeable, personable and just fun to be around! we wish we would have had a full day with her! She even gave book recommendations. I would highly recommend her services and would likely befriend her if I lived in the area.

We set out to Albert, France to find out more about two of our Great Uncles who died on the Somme in WW1. The tour we took was four hours (though actually went over by about 20 minutes) and we couldn't have been more grateful for the time and effort our tour guide John took with us. The whole tour was really interesting and informative, however the time taken to visit the graveyards of our two Great Uncles and the detail provided to us, we felt went over and above what we had expected. John was very knowledgeable about WW1 and was also friendly, professional and easy to communicate with. We would not hesitate to recommend this tour to anyone who is interested in the battlefields of WW1.

This tour was amazing! Alison had contacted me prior to the tour to see if I had any particular area of interest and I told her that I had 2 relatives who fought for Canada in WW I. She looked up both relatives and tailored the tour specifically for my area of interest! As a retired history teacher, I was extremely impressed with the breadth of her knowledge and her personal stories. I wish I had taken this tour 35 years ago as there were so many little pieces of information that my students would have enjoyed hearing about.

Absolutely brilliant tour with Jon who is a fount of knowledge and brought the period to life. We enjoyed every part of the tour and my 9-year-old son was riveted throughout. Thanks Jon for making our holiday.
