  I joined the Half-Day Sea Kayak Tour from Batemans Bay, and it was an absolute pleasure—fun, smooth, and very well organised. David was friendly, calm, and highly experienced throughout the entire trip. When my kayak tipped over due to the tides, he handled the situation perfectly. There was no panic at all—my son and I got back into the kayak smoothly and continued our journey without any difficulty. He even came back to retrieve my hat after it fell into the water, which I really appreciated. David’s professionalism, guidance, and support were outstanding from start to finish.   Would really like to thank our guide Dave. He was really relaxed, informative and very easy to get along with. Highlight of the morning was hanging out with 6 or so seals frolicking in close to the rocks. Would recommend to experienced or novice adventures.

  This is not my first time sea kayaking, but absolutely my worst one. My partner and I booked the tour one day earlier, and then received a message telling us to “urgently” call the agency. We did, but no calls were answered nor returned, leaving us anxious for a couple of hours. When we finally received a brief email later that evening, which just gives us a pin of the meeting point for the next morning, what the urgent need was for us to call was not explained, nor our question on what to bring was replied. The next morning on the beach, one of the two tour guides pointed us to a kayak that has to carry the main component of the “morning tea picnic” for a whole group of less than twenty customers. We would be understanding if these loads had been equally shared by all, but our load was approximately three times more than anyone else, while (a) my partner had disclosed a medical condition via the agency’s online survey, (b) we were obviously the smallest in body size and underweight, and (c) interestingly, we were the only non-whites at the spot. Due to the weight, we had trouble pushing the kayak forward to the water from the very beginning, but the teaching on how to sit on and paddle the kayaks just started far from and without us. Then when we set out to row on water, we were unable to catch up with the group again and again because the loads quickly exhausted us. Neither of the two guides stay with us even though we said we were tired. For a moment, we could not even see any other kayak in the middle of the sea. My partner felt nausea, vomit a couple of times, and continuously quivered due to body heat loss, but all we could do was to just keep pedaling hard forward to find the group. We didn’t even bring our phones under the strong advice of the guides, and of course didn’t expect this situation. We missed almost all the explanations of points of interest, and were not included in many tour pictures. We paid for a guided tour where we were not sufficiently instructed nor accompanied. If we didn’t choose this tour, and just kayaked by ourselves, we wouldn’t even need to carry the load (which we could not enjoy at the picnic later, ironically, due to the sickness), nor would we need to catch up with anyone at the expenses of our own safety, health and comfort. When we finally managed to reach the group that had stayed at a point to watch wildlife, I asked to be towed to a near beach. The guides didn’t have medication for seasickness nor emergency blanket. Fortunately, my partner’s condition just didn’t worsen, and after a rest at the beach, we paddled back to the starting point by ourselves, and quickly drove to elsewhere to get a public toilet and pharmacy. The whole experience felt like bullying, with moments of isolation, ignorance and physical risk one after another.

  Stepped out of my comfort zone today and loved it. Kayaking with an adventurous group, beautiful weather, plus snorkeling and swimming to top it off. Michael was a fantastic instructor!

  Dave & Ben did an excellent job of taking our small group across the ocean in our kayaks. No kayaking experience required - the lesson and safety brief are very well done. The provided morning tea is plentiful. As an FYI, wear sunscreen, sunglasses, a hat, and thongs or reef shoes, and bring water to drink.

  This half day adventure was absolutely BRILLIANT! Exciting and fun the whole time, energetic but not too much. Seals, cormorants and an eagle included in this tour. Michael the tour guide was amazing and even conjured up a sand/ pebble birthday cake with candles on the beach. Easily one of the best experiences we have had in a long time. Don't regret not going.

  Wow, what a fabulous experience this half day tour was. My husband and I had been before and enjoyed it so much that we always wanted to do it again! The group consisted of 7 in total, including Amy our tour guide and we set off from Guerilla Bay where, before we had even got in, we saw dolphins swimming in the water. We paddled out to sea and could see whales in the distance and then were incredibly lucky to have whales come over nearer to us and we saw them breaching and diving quite close by, what an amazing thing to witness. Paddling along the coastline we then saw a seal colony and pulled in to a sheltered bay area for a delicious morning tea and snorkeling and swimming opportunity before heading back to shore in the kayaks. Our tour guide Amy was absolutely brilliant; she ensured that everyone in the group was aware of safety protocols and gave comprehensive advice on kayaking to those in the group who were new to it. Amy was very knowledgeable about the marine life and the local environment which was just great and Amy makes a great cup of coffee!! Highly recommend this tour, 10/10 for fun, value for money and adventure.

  We live in Canberra and have our own kayaks but don't get to the coast enough to build our skills enough to do open water independently, so we love to book in with Region X and spend time with skilled and knowledgeable guides. We've done many short/half day local tours with Region X, including the Tollgstes (second time this weekend), and booked longer trips through them as well, including Ningaloo, Hinchinbrook, Fiji and Svalbard, and loved them all!
