If you prefer the Anthony Bourdain style of travel, experiencing local drinking culture, eating good food, drinking at some hidden watering holes outside of the touristy Old Quarter, talking about everything (lifestyle, history, sports, politics, culture, literature), then this is the tour for you.
I've spent more than 18 years searching for the best Bia Hơi in Hanoi. Even though it's the drink that has represented Hanoi culture for over 50 years and you can see "Bia Hơi" sign at every conner but sadly there are only few places serve proper "Hanoi Bia Hơi" nowadays.
So join me in a journey through some of the most special, enjoyable, hidden places to taste the real Hanoi Bia Hơi and delicious local drinking food.

- Visit the most special, hidden Bia Hơi place in Hanoi, only opens 2 hours a day from 4.30pm. Taste the best Bia Hơi in Hanoi, discover beer history of this city, find out how Bia Hơi replaces Rượu (Vietnamese traditional rice wine) to be the drink that represent Hanoi culture. (This place closes on Sunday and public holiday so instead we'll go to another hidden Bia hơi hangout) - Go to a Bia Hơi place which was an anti aircraft base during Vietnam war and try their famous crispy pork belly and tasty beer. - Meet my most favourite street chef in town, taste some of his very special food (fish spring rolls for example) and some homemade plum or apricot rice wine. * I can only host this beer tour twice a week so please send me a message if you have any date inquiry. * THIS CAN BE WELL ADAPTED TO VEGETARIAN.

Tonight we spent a fun night with Thanh while he toured us around his local watering holes, drinking local brews and enjoying some complimentary tasty food. We enjoyed beers in some unexpected places, all a unique experience. We would do it again it was really enjoyable.

Thanh Le was an amazing tour guide! Very informative, and super hospitable. He took us to some awesome local spots you would never be able to find if you’re a tourist. Some of them didn’t even have a name so they weren’t even on Google maps. It was super cool! He took us to some cool spots where we were able to try out local beer drinking food. Highly recommend for any beer drinkers out there. You won’t be disappointed.

Would you enjoy a tour with street beers, street foods, and a most lovely evening? This is the tour for you. Thanh is a great tour guide, taking you to several under the radar locations for both beer and food. Absolutely delicious, absolutely representative of a thriving beer culture, and most of all a truly authentic experience (including meeting one of thanhs friends randomly on the street. The squash blossoms, grilled pork, and fried tofu were our favorites. 10/10 would recommend.

I don’t know what I expected from this tour but it was a truly immersive experience into Vietnamese culture. The food was interesting and delicious and our guide, Kim, was thoughtful and excited to share her favorite things. All in all, an enjoyable time.

This tour has quickly become one of the highlights of our time in Hanoi! This was recommended by a friend and I’m so glad we decided to do it. Thanh was an incredible host, showing us his local favorites while providing history and knowledge about the area and the people within it. I won’t spoil the tour but it was one of the most fun, cool ways to explore an area and see different locations we never would have found had we been on our own. The beer was delicious and fun to learn about the local varieties and the food to go alongside was exactly what you’d want after the 3rd pitcher. The group is the perfect size to have enough different conversations to keep the evening interesting without being overwhelming by being too large. If you have an evening early in your trip to Hanoi, absolutely sign up for this one of a kind experience with the best host in Hanoi.

Loved this tour with Thanh, a great guide to the lesser known places to enjoy bia hoi in the city. My friends and I will cherish the memories from this tour.

We are very pleased we booked this tour. Thanh was very punctual and such a friendly, knowledgeable local. We were lucky enough to be the only people who booked that day. He took us to the hidden brewery and introduced as to a few different beers and food. He shared lots of information with us and we had a great time - especially as we are beer lovers so it was great to try different beers with the food. Highly recommend.

This is a unique experience. Our friendly guide, Thanh speaks fluent English and kept in touch with me after I signed up for the tour. It was easy to take a Grab to the meeting point. We had beer (last stop was a soju served in a coke bottle)and great local beer food . We sampled papaya salad, crispy pork belly, shrimp roll. Rice crackers, tofu, sticky rice sausages, fish shrimp rolls and mugwort omelette All these at places we would not have visited. Plenty of beer to drink so if you like beer and don’t mind sitting down on low stools among the locals, it is worth signing up for the experience
