We went with this tour over others on TripAdvisor because it didn’t cram as many activities into the same trip, and we were extremely satisfied with the excursion. Steph was friendly, engaging, and hospitable on the ride between sides and we learned a lot from her. Otto drove us very safely and the van was cool and comfortable. It was great to have a full 3 hours at hierve el agua - the perfect amount of time to hike, swim, and have lunch (though the hike was more difficult than many of us expected due to the elevation and heat, so bring water and sun protection!). Steph kept us well-supplied with mezcal throughout the day, and the distillery tour on the way back was educational, delicious, and fun. The vibes were immaculate overall. I would definitely recommend this tour to anyone wanting to see hierve el agua!

This tour is excellent. Many other tours start at 08.00am and finish at 20.00, which is your entire day and too long. This tour start around 09.00 and you're back at 18.00 - still plenty of time for dinner and drinks. It focuses on two key things rather than try to fit in too many things, although we sti had some time for a quick pit stop at things like a local bakery! The tour guide, Leon is excellent. Really knowledgeable and friendly. He's very passionate about Oaxaca and its history and is more than happy to answer any questions. Overall, this tour is perfect. Informative, fun - a great day out.

We have taken a Viator trip before which included a Mezcal tasting, but this one was done very well and very informative in many different ways. Our tour guide was excellent, and we are looking forward to coming back next year. He went over and beyond what we expected, including two extra little stops, so tell him thank you.

Our trip to hierve el agua was one of the highlights of our Oaxaca trip. Margarita was such a fantastic guide and had great information on history, local customs, geography and everything in between. It was the perfect balance of personal and professional. She was just the best. Our driver Hugo kept us safe, on time, and also joined in on giving us recommendations on further things to explore and places to eat for the rest of our time in Oaxaca. This trip gave us plenty of time to fully explore Hierve el agua (we hiked and swam), and gave us an insiders view of the mezcal distilling process. I would highly recommend this trip to anyone that wants a day trip that doesn’t feel rushed with excellent guides who really know their stuff. Excellent value!

We had an awesome time! Léon was the best guide. He gave us lots of information and extra stops to make the trip really special. The mezcal tasting with Santiago was great - we ended up getting way more mezcal than advertised (and they advertised a lot!). The hike at Hierve Al Agua is difficult but beautiful, and you can immerse in the cold water afterwards. Taking a tour is a little bit touristic, but we had a nice group so it was definitely worth it (instead of renting a car) and it was great value for money. Make sure you ask for Léon as your guide as he is truly the best and feels like a friend!

What a day! Hierve Del Agua is a spectacular place to visit, and our guide was exceptional - friendly, knowledgeable and fun. Seeing the process by which Mezcal is made was fascinating… and the tasting was positively intoxicating. 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻

Great tour, with very knowledgeable guides. The hike was easy—we didn’t hire a local guide for that part so walked on our own. The pools looked nice and refreshing, but the weather was a bit too cold for us to fully swim so we just dipped our feet in after the hike. Others in our tour group were braver and went for a dip though. The mezcal tasting was generous—we had 10-14 samples and learned a lot about the distillation process along the way.

Had a fantastic day doing the Mitla, Tula, Hierve el Agua, Mezcal tour earlier this month (4 December). Good commentary from our guide and the size of the group was just right. For me, it was a last minute booking and I'm really glad to have done it. Especially enjoyed Hierve el Agua and of course the mezcal visit. Good value, too. Definitely recommend it.
