Set in the beautiful Dry Tropical Forest on the foothills of the Rincón de la Vieja Volcano, the hike to La Leona Fall is a unique journey that will challenge your senses and your endurance. For about 21⁄2 hours, you’ll explore uneven terrain, cross rivers, and witness the transformation of the water into a vibrant sky blue, resulting from volcanic minerals. When you arrive, you can enjoy this natural gem, a real gift of nature that invites you to connect with the beauty of the environment. It is not a recommended route for people with poor health or physical condition.

We will pass through the White City of Liberia where on the return of the tour, if the clients request it we can pass for the client to have lunch, this item will be paid directly by the client.

5.00Verny was an absolutely amazing guide! He was so friendly, knowledgable and a genuinely good person. We spent the day with him traveling to La Leona waterfall and ziplining. He showed us so many beautiful animals and plants, and answered all our questions about Costa Rica with patience and enthusiasm. He always made us feel safe and well taken care of. Just a great person to be around and spend the day with. He truly went above and beyond what we expected. We would highly recommend him to any of our friends and family. Thank you Verny for a fantastic day!

5.00We had an amazing time with Verny! He is incredibly knowledgeable, fun, and made the entire experience unforgettable. We hiked to the beautiful Leona Waterfall, enjoyed some of the sweetest fruit, and had a delicious, authentic Costa Rican lunch. The hike was a little scary at times, but Verny prioritized safety and made everyone in our group feel comfortable and secure throughout the journey. I would highly recommend him for any excursions in Costa Rica!

5.00Verny is the best tour guide I've met throughout 3 trips to Costa Rica over 20 years. His attention to detail and passion for sharing his amazing country and its abundant resources with his guests is ever-present during the tour. He treated us like family and made us feel so welcome. We enjoyed his Multi Adventure Tour so much that we did his LA LEONA WATERFALL CANYONING & WHITE WATER TUBING Tour 2 days later. He spotted lots of wildlife which really enhanced the tour and his love for the ecosystem is obvious. Verny's reputation with other guides precedes him and they clearly admire his way with guests and respect him as an incredible and experienced guide. He timed our tour perfectly to avoid any potential crowds and make our experience as personalized as possible. I'd HIGHLY RECOMMEND booking any and all tours with Verny during your time in Costa Rica.

5.00Outstanding - if I could give Verny 11 stars I would. We had a group of 8 and did the hike to the falls which was stunning, and then white water tubing which was amazing, followed by lunch. Verny is extremely knowledgable and passionate about the history, culture and wildlife in Costa Rica. We spent the most the day hiking and Verny would stop and point out specific plants and animals along the way, we stopped at fruit stand and had pineapple during our journey. He took all the pictures along the way so we could focus and take everything in. Easily one of the best experiences we had on our week long trip - I would say if you are coming to Costa Rica and in the Tamarindo area, booking a tour with Verny is an absolute must.

5.00Our group of 8 went on the La Leona waterfall tour and the River Tubing adventure. It was amazing and it was all thanks to our guide Verny. He picked us up at our Airbnb and while driving gave us all sorts of historical and wildlife info on Costa Rica. With his assistant Alex and friendly dog Linda, we were guided to the La Leona waterfall. It was a great adventure and the hike had beautiful scenery. The River Tubing was also very fun and a great way to close out our day. The drive back was perfectly uneventful and we arrived back to our Airbnb just in time for dinner. Thanks again Verny, Alex, and Linda!

5.00I took my 13 and 18 year old daughters as a graduation gift for the older one. We had the La Leona Waterfall tour with him. We had the BEST and AMZING experience ever. Verny was exceptional. He was kind, respectful and did everything he could for us to have the wonderful experience. My right ankle is weak. So, he made sure that I was safe, comfortable and had no injury while hiking. He carried fresh local fruits for us so that we can eat them when we took a break. Also, he took all the amazing pictures for us. Hiking was fun, the waterfall was beyond your imagination and Verny is the best. We had the best family trip and still talk about it all the time. Thank you, Verny, for all you do!!

5.00We booked a tour with Verny, and had so much fun that we booked another tour two days later. Not all tour guide guides are created equal, and Verny is a real stand out in his industry. He loves Costa Rica, and this is evident throughout his tours. He wants to make sure that you have fun, but has a real focus on your safety as well, which was greatly appreciated by our group. We knew we were in the best hands on both full day tours. No matter how you choose to spend your day with Verny, you won’t regret booking with him. We hope to bring our extended family back to Costa Rica and experience more of this beautiful country with Verny’s guidance.
