With Backpacker Helsinki Tour you will enjoy a perfect guiding hike in the National Park of Nuuksio. During the walk, we will cross many different lakes and type of landscapes ! Nuuksio National Park reflect perfectly the spectacular beauty of Finnish forest, the Taïga !
On our trip, I will share with you many informations about Finland and it wildlife and flora. Depending on the season, you will have the opportunity to pick berries or mushrooms !
In the heart of the winter, depending on the snowpack, possibility to practice snowshoes during the hike !
During the break in the Taïga, you will enjoy a delicious "Glögi" served with Finnish biscuits.
And on the summer, possible to swim in a pristine lake !
I will propose you the perfect trek corresponding to your level of hiking.
We will end by sharing an authentic home made Finnish soup served with a traditional bread and beverage in a Laavu, the Finnish fire camp !

5.00With a minivan picked up by our guide David. Highly recommended. Very nice hike made with lots of explanations from David. Halfway between tasty drink and snack and finish with his delicious homemade mushroom soup with bread. Thank you David!

5.00David was GREAT! We had been on a cruise ship for 10 days sightseeing mostly cities so this was a refreshing break through the beautiful forest in Finland. He pointed out the many varieties of mushrooms and berries and we were treated to a Mushroom soup he had made that was heavenly. Thank you David for you patience and expertise. And also for getting us back to our ship on time, safely. Highly recommend!

5.00David was very friendly and knowledgeable about the vegetation in the forest. The trail is a good path, but wet at this time of year - wear proper waterproof footwear. The lakes are beautiful. And the mushroom soup is amazing!

5.00It was a great experience!! It was rainy but the forest was full of mushroom and berries when we went. We saw three lakes too and had soup by a bonfire.

5.00We picked blueberries and mushrooms and took them home with us, guided by a very kind forest guide. I was glad to sign up for this tour, especially because I can't tell mushrooms apart myself. The sweets and juice we ate along the way and the soup we ate at the end were just perfect times to relieve our physical fatigue. We also met snakes, frogs and swans. It was August, but unlike Japan, it was a quiet forest with no cicadas singing. Mosquitoes were there, so insect repellent was useful. They spoke English slowly to us. It was also a great help to be able to drive to and from Helsinki station. The kids seemed to have the best memories of the trip, too!

5.00I am so grateful I participated in this tour of Nuuksio National Park with David in March of 2025. It was a most wonderful adventure. I loved exploring this national park under David's leadership. He was very knowledgable about the park, its flora, and its landscape. What a treat to hike the gorgeous trails through the varied woodlands and bogs amidst the varied terrain. It was especially delightful to have berry tea and snacks along the trail and wild mushroom soup and rye bread at the end of our hike. I can only imagine the beauty of Nuuksio in the all the other seasons. If I should be lucky enough to return to Helsinki, I would definitely participate in this tour once again. It was more than worth the price for all that was included in this full morning of adventuring.

5.00Lovely hike through the woods with occasional stops to admire the lakes! Can be boggy/steep in some areas so decent shoes are recommend

5.00This was more of a “real” hike than I am used to with these trips, but I loved every bit of it. Our tour guide even made mushroom soup with mushroom he foraged himself which was awesome
