Discover Hiroshima through a personal storytelling walk with a guide who has lived here for over two decades. After studying Japanese arts and spending time with an atomic bomb survivor, I share a perspective shaped by real connections and lived experience.
We can begin at Shukkeien Garden or Peace Memorial Park, depending on your preference. From there we explore Hiroshima Castle and Gokoku Shrine, learning about the city’s culture and resilience. As we follow the Peace Line into the Park, I highlight small details and stories most visitors miss.
We continue to the A-Bomb Dome and, if you choose, the Peace Memorial Museum. The pace is relaxed, with time for questions, reflection, and even a coffee break. This is not a rushed sightseeing tour, but a warm and meaningful introduction to Hiroshima’s past and present.

Hiroshima Station
We’ll meet at a location that’s convenient for you. I can meet you directly in Peace Memorial Park or in front of Shukkeien Garden, depending on where you’d like to begin. I’ll confirm the exact meeting point with you before the tour.
Shukkeien
A beautiful traditional garden offering a calm introduction to Hiroshima. We explore winding paths, ponds, and bridges while talking about the city’s early history and cultural roots.

5.00Alex is an experienced guide who lives in Hiroshima and thus knows the area well. His English is perfect and easy to understand, something not to take for granted in Japan. We spent four hours with him at all the major sites of The Peace Park and its surroundings and git a good feeling for the area and stories surrounding it. I highly recommend that you hire him to enhance your understanding of what happened in Japan at the close of WW2.

5.00Alex was so helpful straight from the start. He was flexible when we needed to change our meeting time and even came to our hotel to meet which was so helpful as newcomers to Hiroshima. He knowledge about the whole city was fantastic and we saw things we never would have found ourselves. I would definately recommend Alex for anyone wanting a personal tour.

5.00We had a truly enjoyable experience exploring the hidden gems of Hiroshima and gaining a deep understanding of the city’s past through our Private Guided Walking Tour. Alex was a wonderful guide who connected effortlessly with every member of our family. His extensive knowledge and engaging storytelling—even in the pouring rain—kept us captivated, especially with his fun anecdotes and quiz questions! The following day, Alex also guided us to Miyajima, thoughtfully timing our visit with the tides so we could capture stunning family photos at the iconic floating Torii gate.
