Itinerary:
1. Auckland - Your tour starts in New Zealand’s largest city. As we drive out of the city your guide will not only set the scene for your adventure today but also point out and guide you past some of the city’s top highlights.
2. Waikato - Exiting Auckland we travel south through the stunning Waikato countryside, the most extensive farming area in the world, encountering beautiful scenery, mighty rivers, great photo opportunities, impressive mountains and several farm animals along the way.
3. Hobbiton Movie Set - Arriving at ‘Hobbiton’ you will board one of the big green Hobbiton buses for a two & a half hour fully guided tour of this amazing 12 acre movie set with a professional Hobbiton guide to ensure you get the most out of your visit. During your tour step into the lush pastures of the Shire, visit 44 hobbit holes, see amazing gardens, hear the secrets and stories about the making of the movies and enjoy a cold complimentary beverage at the famous Hobbiton pub ‘The Green Dragon Inn’.
4. Auckland - Sadly we must start to head north again but your day is not over with a fully guided return trip to Auckland including surprise stops. Depending on weather and timing our guides love doing other surprise stops. Maybe a scenic stop near a lake or the chance to try New Zealand ice creams, we love introducing you to local wildlife and animals. You will have to jump on the tour to see where you go!
Cancellation Policy
Terms: Tours will only run if at least 5 people have booked on the tour, we reserves the right to alter the tour due to weather or operational needs.
A full refund will be issued for cancellations made a minimum of 10 days prior to the scheduled departure time.

5.00Our guide with Cheeky Kiwi was so great! He provided a lot of information about the region and could answer every question thrown his way. The stops we made to and from Hobbiton were well timed and great refreshments! The whole region is so beautiful and interesting that it didn’t even matter that we weren’t big LotR fans to begin with. We enjoyed the time we spent in Hobbiton, but the tour to and from Hobbiton with CheekyKiwi was a highlight of my trip.

3.00The Hobbiton tour itself was fantastic and absolutely worth doing. The set is beautiful, very well maintained, and the guide was knowledgeable and engaging. It was a great experience overall and my family really enjoyed it. However, I was disappointed to find that we were charged extra for a child booster seat during transport. My son had a paid child ticket for the tour, and a booster seat is a basic safety requirement, not an optional add-on. Other tour providers include this at no extra cost, so this charge felt unfair and unexpected. I hope the operator reviews this policy, as it slightly detracts from an otherwise excellent experience. I would still recommend the tour, but parents should be aware of this additional cost.

5.00This was a must do tour if youre a fan of LOTR. Everything was smooth and seamless from the communication to the pickup and dropoff. Grant was our driver to Hobbiton. He was great about explaining all things about Auckland and New Zealand in general during the drive. The Hobbiton experience was amazing.
