Itinerary:
1. Auckland - Your tour starts in New Zealand’s largest city. As we drive out of the city your guide will not only set the scene for your adventure today but also point out and guide you past some of the city’s top highlights.
2. Waikato - Exiting Auckland we travel south through the stunning Waikato countryside, the most extensive farming area in the world, encountering beautiful scenery, mighty rivers, great photo opportunities, impressive mountains and several farm animals along the way.
3. Hobbiton Movie Set - Arriving at ‘Hobbiton’ you will board one of the big green Hobbiton buses for a two & a half hour fully guided tour of this amazing 12 acre movie set with a professional Hobbiton guide to ensure you get the most out of your visit. During your tour step into the lush pastures of the Shire, visit 44 hobbit holes, see amazing gardens, hear the secrets and stories about the making of the movies and enjoy a cold complimentary beverage at the famous Hobbiton pub ‘The Green Dragon Inn’.
4. Auckland - Sadly we must start to head north again but your day is not over with a fully guided return trip to Auckland including surprise stops. Depending on weather and timing our guides love doing other surprise stops. Maybe a scenic stop near a lake or the chance to try New Zealand ice creams, we love introducing you to local wildlife and animals. You will have to jump on the tour to see where you go!
Cancellation Policy
Terms: Tours will only run if at least 5 people have booked on the tour, we reserves the right to alter the tour due to weather or operational needs.
A full refund will be issued for cancellations made a minimum of 10 days prior to the scheduled departure time.

5.00Hobbiton is always fantastic. It’s even better comparing with my last visit. The transportation between Auckland and Hobbiton is also great. There are lots of introduction on the local history and scenic points.

5.00We had an amazing time at the Hobbiton. Our driver Mr. “Cheeky” Michael was really nice, patient and knowledgeable. Told us all about NZ and the Hobbiton. The Hobbiton tour was spot-on. The guide was super passionate and we all enjoyed it a ton.

4.00Hobbiton was fun but our time there was rushed. If you need gifts go right to the gift shop. Our van had to leave by a certain time to avoid rush hour going back to Auckland. I didn't come all the way to New Zealand from the US to worry about traffic!!!

4.00It's tough to rate this. The tour of Hobbiton itself was fantastic, but that had nothing to do with Viator. My wife has never seen any parts of any of the movies, but she thoroughly enjoyed it as well. The transportation through Cheeky Kiwi, however, was just okay. We were picked up on time and returned when told, but our driver liked to talk a lot and didn't really have much to say. He asked a question to a Greek passenger, "Is the ancient Greek language similar to Latin?" What? He wasn't the best at backing into parking spaces or getting around the hotel pickup spots, either. Bottom line is, go to Hobbiton, but maybe find a different way to get there.

5.00From booking it has been such a good experience & would recommend using you & I would use you again. It is so worth the money for tour. If it was up to me I wouldn’t of left but the amount of time you do spend is a good length & don’t feel rushed. Liam who took us was brilliant from the start & he was so knowledgeable about the area & very interesting stories & made it a fun & exciting day!!
