Itinerary:
1. Auckland - Your tour starts in New Zealand’s largest city. As we drive out of the city your guide will not only set the scene for your adventure today but also point out and guide you past some of the city’s top highlights.
2. Waikato - Exiting Auckland we travel south through the stunning Waikato countryside, the most extensive farming area in the world, encountering beautiful scenery, mighty rivers, great photo opportunities, impressive mountains and several farm animals along the way.
3. Hobbiton Movie Set - Arriving at ‘Hobbiton’ you will board one of the big green Hobbiton buses for a two & a half hour fully guided tour of this amazing 12 acre movie set with a professional Hobbiton guide to ensure you get the most out of your visit. During your tour step into the lush pastures of the Shire, visit 44 hobbit holes, see amazing gardens, hear the secrets and stories about the making of the movies and enjoy a cold complimentary beverage at the famous Hobbiton pub ‘The Green Dragon Inn’.
4. Auckland - Sadly we must start to head north again but your day is not over with a fully guided return trip to Auckland including surprise stops. Depending on weather and timing our guides love doing other surprise stops. Maybe a scenic stop near a lake or the chance to try New Zealand ice creams, we love introducing you to local wildlife and animals. You will have to jump on the tour to see where you go!
Cancellation Policy
Terms: Tours will only run if at least 5 people have booked on the tour, we reserves the right to alter the tour due to weather or operational needs.
A full refund will be issued for cancellations made a minimum of 10 days prior to the scheduled departure time.

5.00Did the Hobbiton tour today with Cheeky Travel, and it was excellent! Cam our guide and driver was the best!!! Very engaging with all participants, with a wide age variation. We had a full van, and some were Hobbit trilogy/LOTR fans, while others did not know a thing about it. He managed to make the long drive interesting and not seem too bad. Also, he was very prompt with pickup and meeting times. Cam drives you to Hobbiton, then a bus takes you up to the Shire, and then you get a different guide who takes you on the 2.5 hour walking tour, mostly outside. Shout out to Chris, our guide, who was also excellent. You also get to go inside a hobbit house, and get very interesting information on how the movies were filmed there. A fun, very worthwhile day, with a surprise stop on the way back. I would recommend Cheeky Kiwi Travel, and wouldn't hesitate to book with them in the future.

5.00I had such an incredible time at hobbiton! The tour group I was with was lovely and friendly, our tour guide Cam was amazing and kept us entertained the whole drive and stopped for some ice cream on the way back. Would 100% recommendation this to anyone!!!

5.00We came off a cruise ship and used Mövenpick Hotel as our pick up location which was only a 5 min. walk from the cruise terminal. So convenient! The tour guide Timmy was amazing!! So welcoming, energetic and very accommodating for the needs of each guest. We loved our time at Hobbiton and it became one of the highlights of our trip. I would highly recommend CheekyKiwi tours! Loved every minute of it!

5.00Nice small group tour with guide Timmy in minibus. Gave us info on Auckland and countryside along the way. Took about 2 hrs to Hobbiton movie set/tour. Then we boarded their bus and had new guide Andrew around the farm and attractions. Timmy picked us up and traveled back to Auckland. Only negative was limited time for lunch and giftshop. Otherwise great tour.
