The host lives in a wet rice farming village so they will tell you stories about the life of farmers here, how they convert their job from farming to working in tourism... Especially, they will show you how to produce white rice (Rice product ready to use in Viet Nam ) by traditional way with some old hand machine in the Host' house:
-Firstly, we husking the rice to have brown rice
-Secondly, we winnowing to separate brown rice from husk
-Then we sifting and pounding brown rice to become white rice
-Lastly we grinding white rice to get rice flour, and we use rice flour for cooking rice pancake later for your meal.

What To Expect
At 5:00 PM, the host will pick you up at your hotel in Hoi An center. We will then take a taxi to the host’ house in the countryside for being invited as “Special Guest” to their dinner (Or Lunch). Arriving in the house, you are warmly welcomed by all family members. A short introduction to their family will help you to know each other of the family. And then, it’s time to enjoy home dinner with the Vietnamese family prepared by his wife and daughter (you also have chance joining to prepare some with them). You will not only taste many typical Vietnamese dishes, but also listen to the stories of Vietnamese cuisines and table manners. In addition, the host will show you more about traditional food of Vietnam. The host lives in a wet rice farming village so they will tell you stories about the life of farmers here, how they convert their job from farming to working in tourism... After finishing dinner, you will join a tea break with the host. They will tell you about the story of their own life, offers a great opening to find out about the family’s life in the past and today. Goodbye to the host and our Taxi driver will transfer you back to your hotel around 8:00- 8:30 PM.

5.00We thoroughly enjoyed this tour, along with our two small children (4 and 2yrs). The rice farm was very interesting and then cycling around the local area was also a highlight. Upon returning to the local house we continued to learn about the rice growing process, had an awesome opportunity to learn how to cook local dishes and then enjoyed a delicious lunch. The family were happy to help entertain our children so everyone had a very me memorable time.

5.00We had a wonderful time with Mr. Hoang at his home. He picked us up on time at the hotel, about 10 minutes by taxi, we were reached at his house, were warmly welcomed by family members (his mother, his wife, and 2 young daughters). Because his family lives in the rice fields, we have the opportunity to hear about the farmer's life here, we are taught how to use traditional farming tools in the past to produce white rice grains - the final product for Vietnamese people to eat every day. It was a pleasant experience. We joined his wife to cook rice pancakes and enjoy other delicious food cooked by her… The cooking instructions were informative, the food delicious and the hospitality was wonderful. I would definitely recommend it to anyone who is interested in food and culture.
