At the heart of the UNESCO-listed Morne Brabant mountain, the team at "Haras du Morne" invites you to explore breathtaking landscapes on horseback or by carriage. As you ascend this iconic mountain, you’ll take in stunning 360° views—northward toward Benitiers Island and southward to Fourneau Island, both encircled by a magical lagoon. The surrounding lush forest, serene and vibrant, enhances the experience.
Venturing off the beaten path, you might encounter wild stags, drawn by the bond between your horse and the wildlife. Afterward, enjoy a refreshing ride along the shoreline, with your horse splashing in the waves. For an unforgettable finale, unsaddle and swim with your horse in the warm waters—a favorite daily ritual for these natural swimmers. Guides from Haras du Morne will be happy to capture these special moments with your camera.

Le Morne
Le Morne Cultural Landscape, a rugged mountain on the southwest coast of Mauritius, served as a refuge for runaway slaves (maroons) during the 18th and early 19th centuries. The mountain’s remote, wooded cliffs provided protection, allowing the escaped slaves to establish small settlements in caves and at the summit. Today, Le Morne stands as a powerful symbol of the struggle for freedom and the sacrifices made by slaves from Africa, Madagascar, India, and Southeast Asia. Mauritius, once a key stop in the eastern slave trade, became known as the "Maroon republic" due to the large number of slaves who sought refuge on the mountain.

Horse riding on the beach was a great experience for us, which we enjoyed very much. Kingsley, our guide, was very helpful and made our trip an amazing event.

All the amazing sites we're spectacular. Yhe driver shan was very helpful with ideas and photography . It was however flawed with regards to the payment. The cyclone changed my plans and the driver shan came up with this south island tour. I spent the whole day when i was in the car trying to pay for it yhrough you site and through yhe operator. It would not allow me This ruined some of the experience as i could not relax. I felt that i was also on the back foot as i started the tour late at 10am and it was rushed for me as i had late evening plans. It was also codt me more than if i had booked it in england. I thought i booked that morning the full day south tour but the tour operator put me in for the picturesque south tour. No difference apart from price. But I was glad to be doing something since casela park was cancelled.
