I had an amazing trip, the guide, Mr. Chaulo, was so helpful and he took care of everything. The vast grassland and dunes in this region are a must-visit place. I really enjoyed the horse show and feeding carrots to the horse. It was bit colder than I expected, especially during the night. I would love to go back and take the same trip again someday.

Thank you Chaolu for giving us a wonderful experience of Inner Mongolia. From snowy grasslands, mountains to deserts, Chaolu’s tour provided a comprehensive experience of this magical destination. He is also a great conversationalist that will keep you occupied on long journeys—all in all a very pleasant trip to Inner Mongolia. Also, thank you for going above and beyond for taking drone pictures for us to remember our trip.

My family had wanted a totally different Inner Mongolia experience in winter. Mr Chaolu delivered that and more. He had planned out the programme but was flexible to make changes so that we see the best of Inner Mongolia. He’s able to explain the stories and background to places. He also delivers what he promises and is always punctual in picking us up for our daily activities. Overall, we had a very good experience with Mr Chaolu.

Chaolu was a great guide. He took us to less touristic places, give us great advice to try local food and to listen to traditional music, and was flexible and attentive, adapting the tour to the unstable weather. We totally recommend him!!

Mr. Chaolu is an exceptionally experienced guide, always attentive to your needs and highly adaptable. His flexibility allows for adjustments to the tour at any moment, whether due to weather changes or unexpected discoveries. As a skilled driver, he ensures that each journey is both smooth and enjoyable. With extensive knowledge of the area, he can take you to hidden, non-touristic restaurants where you can savor delicious local specialties at great prices. His calm demeanor and engaging conversations add to the pleasure of the experience. Don't hesitate to book a tour with his expert guidance.

Chaolu was our tour guide and he was fantastic. He was super flexible and brought us wherever we wanted to go with great recommendations for non-touristy and beautiful locations. He made great conversation and thought us much about Mongolian life and tradition. This tour was amazing as we saw the vast Inner Mongolian grassland, camped under the stars, camped in the desert, experienced Mongolian Throat singing, eat the delicious local cuisine and visited beautiful Buddhist temples. I'd recommend this tour to anybody interested in visiting Inner Mongolia

We (a couple) visited Inner Mongolia around end October and met with the local guide Chaolu. We met up with him at the airport and the first impression he left us was that he is a really friendly guide who tries his best to answer all the questions and doubts we have in our minds. He has also tried his best to accomodate us in our requirements such as staying in Yurt despite the cold weather that he has constantly informed us way before the trip. Itineraries were pre-planned before the trip but we were all flexible with some of the minor changes made along the way depending on the amount of time. We also agreed that we will like to have a relax trip where we do not rush around from one place to another and this coincides with what he has on mind which makes the whole journey very pleasant. Throughout the whole journey, Chaolu also tried his best to entertain with some of his thoughts on various matters which actually intrigue us during the long car ride from one destination to another. What really makes his standout is that he will always bring us to eat cheap and good local cuisines which are not too touristy so that we can have the full Inner Mongolia experience. The grassland and desert tour was interesting to both of us as well because we are able to avoid the touristy areas and have the whole grassland and desert to ourselves (it is also partly because we went during a low peak period). All in all, we really enjoyed the company of Chaolu and we will not hesitate to introduce him to any of our friends if they want to enjoy an authentic Inner Mongolia experience. P.s. Not only does he covers Hohhot area, he also does do tour guide at Hulunbuir area (another part of Inner Mongolia)

Mr. Chao is a fantastic tour guide! We recently had a three-day tour with him visiting the deserts and grasslands of Inner Mongolia. The entire time, Mr. Chao was friendly, funny, and incredibly knowledgeable about many subjects. He was very flexible with the tour; giving us several options on what we could do at each stop, and also found alternative activities/arrangements when the weather took a turn for the worst. I also really enjoyed the fact that Mr. Chao constantly sort out authentic and less-crowded experiences. I can't recommend him enough!

Our group of eight friends found ChaoLu 朝鲁 on TripAdvisor and we spent 7 days on the ground in Inner Mongolia with him as our private guide. We collaborated with him on an initial tour programme but with flexible adjustments along the way, which made our private tour so exciting and enjoyable. Our trip started at Hohhot, then onwards to Huitengxile Grassland 辉腾锡勒草原(黄花沟),Xilamuren Grassland 希拉穆仁草原, Jimusitai 吉穆斯泰(花果山), Qin Greatwall 秦长城, a speedboat ride on the Yellow River 黄河, Kubuqi Desert 库布齐沙漠, ending at Ordos 鄂尔多斯 to visit the Genghis Khan Mausoleum 成吉思汗陵。 It seems like a lot of ground to cover, but in reality the pace was very comfortable for a 7-day trip, and also because of the way which ChaoLu structured the movement. With in-depth local knowledge, ChaoLu arranged for places where crowds were avoided which made us feel we had the grassland, the water and the desert to ourselves most of the time, the only exception being HuangHua Gorge 黄花沟 where the setup was somewhat like a theme park even though the landscape was quite pretty. Our concern of a crowded Mongolia in August was laid to rest. We saw fireworks on the night we arrived at Xilamuren 希拉穆仁 and was wondering if we could have the same fun, lo and behold the networking went into gear and at Jimusitai 吉穆斯泰, our guide brought us to purchase the fireworks, arranged with a remote farm for us to enjoy a campfire, fire-roasted lamb, and of course, with the fireworks to boot. This part of the tour was completely impromptu and neatly executed to the hilt. Other impromptu arrangements were an all-terrain drive, staying in a wooden yurt, watching an open-air horse-riding show. Xilamuren is a popular site for tourists due to its proximity to Hohhot. We did not plan to visit this grassland but we also gave a problem to ChaoLu that we did not want to stay in a touristy concrete yurt at Huitengxile. So ChaoLu suggested a wooden yurt (with attached washroom) in Xilamuren but was in the deeper recess of the grassland, where we had the fields almost to ourselves. The photos attest to this beautiful accommodation at Xilamuren. At Ordos City 鄂尔多斯市 which was our final destination, we pampered ourselves by staying in the executive room of YongGui Hotel 雍贵酒店, which we would highly recommend. But our main recommendation would be that in Inner Mongolia, it is best to go with a guide like ChaoLu 朝鲁 who grew up in the land.

We (4 people/2 couples) visited Inner Mongolia mid-August with the local guide Chaolu who specializes in customized tours. It was an awesome 4 day-trip! Chaolu is a wonderful guide! His English is great. He is very knowledgeable - not only about history, sights, surroundings etc. but also about what tourists like to eat, how they like to spend their time etc. Chaolu has experience with different kinds of tourists and their preferences. He designed a 4 day tour according to our wishes and even was flexible to adjust the itinerary on the way. Chaolu is a very friendly, attentive, humorous, open-minded guide, and it was great fun to travel with him! Being Mongolian minority Chinese, Chaolu speaks Mongolian language and has a particularly good insight into the Mongolian culture and history. His 7-seater car is very cozy. We always felt comfortable and safe with him.
