We begin the walk in the Andorra Valley, we will walk through a peat bog and border the river. These wetlands today are RAMSAR sites, internationally protected environments. Here we learn to interpret the place and its surroundings, being privileged to be there as protagonists.
Upon entering the native Andean Patagonian forest, the ascent begins, where steep slopes are combined with flat sections. The terrain is mountainous, so depending on the weather there may be mud, snow or the trail may be dry.
The forest tells us the story of axemen who decades ago exploited the place and its resources. The climb lasts 2:30 hours and it is important to maintain a constant pace.

Hiking to the top of the mountain to visit a millennial glacier is an experience that you can not miss if you come to the end of the world, the glaciers are in retreat and it will not be long before they disappear. We feel lucky to be able to visit them and we don’t want you to miss it. We invite you to walk over the glacier, observe its crevices and sinkholes, and enter an ice cave*. It should be noted that the glacier is constantly receding so the places you see are changing and melting. The terrain is mountainous, so depending on the climate, the trail varies. We share a rich lunch, some nice talks, and spectacular views, and then return to the city. Trekking has medium level difficulty, so good fitness is required. It is not important to walk fast, but to be able to maintain a steady and sustained pace to reach the destination and be able to return. Mini glacier trekking: activity available during the summer season. *Due to the constant evolution of the glacier, caves may not be available. If it is important to you, ask us first!

A beautiful walk up to the lagoon and glacier. However, it was very expensive considering there was no walking on the glacier, which was not made clear beforehand. And whilst the guide was very friendly, he didn't add much to the experience. It wouldn't have been difficult to organise the actual walk by ourselves had we known there was no actual "ice trekking".

The tour and our guide were really great. However, it is worth noting the seasons, as the glacier is not always accessible. We were there in mid-November and the crevasses and caves were all covered with snow, so an ascent was Too dangerous.

It was a great experience! First of all the organization by Taun Ushuaia team was excellent, with all the necessary information in advance with a minimal number of messages (really appreciated). And we were very lucky to have Joaquin as our guide! We were a small group of 3 people and he very smoothly guided us on a snowy mountain trek! Always respecting our pace, giving us tips on how to trek more effectively, and explaining the majestic landscape around us (the plants, glaciers, etc.). Important to say that me and my partner had very little experience in trekking (actually only hiking). Physical condition is good but still it was a completely new experience for us. Thank you Taun Ushuaia and Joaquin for this experience. We totally reccommend it!

We were a group of three (five including our guide and his amazing dog, Kona 😍). The trek was incredible—physically demanding, but worth every drop of sweat and every sore muscle. Along the way, we learned about the local flora and the ecological importance of the turba (peatland). The two main highlights of the hike were the stop by the river and reaching the glacier and ice cave. The views were absolutely breathtaking!!!!
