Icefields Parkway
On this tour, your Radventures guide will determine the best times to visit each of the following locations, in no particular order, based on weather conditions, big bus tour schedules & a few other factors that we as locals consider to ensure that you, as our guests, are getting the best and most authentic experience on the day. Adventuring outside deep in the heart of Banff National Park is a phenomenal experience in any season! That being said, this is a part of the world where weather can change in an instant and temperatures stay well below freezing for most of the winter. Please layer up and dress for being outside in freezing temperatures! Please also ensure you have warm, waterproof footwear on.
Abraham Lake
Just outside the eastern border of Banff National Park, the once-overlooked Abraham Lake has recently surged in popularity. This is due to the unique spectacle of methane bubbles trapped within its frozen surface. Nestled against the backdrop of the majestic Canadian Rockies, its awe-inspiring beauty has attracted many, elevating its fame. Our expert local guides come with the proficiency to pinpoint the best locations on the lake for observing and capturing these mesmerizing bubbles, ensuring you steer clear of the bustling crowds. They also prioritize your safety amidst this rugged landscape. Adding a cozy touch to the icy setting, we'll set up a fire pit and offer hot drinks at Abraham Lake for guests to gather and warm up. For a truly memorable adventure, contact Radventures to reserve ice skate rentals and gracefully glide over these frozen marvels!

Nolan was wonderful guide/driver for our private tour up to the ice fields with numerous stops on way in both directions. Johnny Simpson and Bow Lake, wedding Veil waterfalls, the Ice Fields and glaciers and Peyto Lake to name a few. Our small group of three were educated with his knowledge of various sights and flora and fauna.

Everything was exceptional! Small group for a VIP experience. Comfortable shuttle, hot chocolate and coffee are served on board. The lunch that is optional is delicious. Our guide Simon was extra friendly and knowledgeable. He quickly put us all at ease, between passengers. He knows how to communicate information and tell us as much as possible about Banff and its surroundings. The landscapes are breathtaking! This tour lasts a whole day and it is worth it to see the glaciers that otherwise would not be as accessible to us as tourists passing through. Service A1, I highly recommend Radventures for any excursion!

What a fantastic experience. We spent the day visiting the Peyto Lake lookout, Bow Lake and Marble Canyon. Nolan was an excellent guide. He was professional and well informed and he was also able to tailor the experience to suit the weather conditions. We would totally recommend this tour.

Beautiful way to see the area. Lots of stops for photos and leg stretching and we did a couple of decent length hikes. We hiked with micro spikes and snowshoes. Nice small group let us have good conversations while we drove. Simon our guide was extremely knowledgeable and friendly and that really added to the experience. An absolute must do if visiting Banff as the mountains outside Banff and the drive along the Icefield Parkway were all spectacular!!

This was an excellent tour and Tess, our guide was lovely. She was very knowledgeable and helpful as was Harry who was assisting her that day. The scenery was amazing, interesting and I enjoyed the whole trip. I definitely recommend this tour and order your lunch through them as it was very good.

After having knee surgery I was concerned that I would struggle with the walking in this trip, but Nolan was amazing! Apart from making sure I was ok, he helped me in so many ways, for example, putting on my ice cleats and always being considerate and thoughtful. At the same time, he was a mine of information and shared his knowledge with all of us in a lively way, answering everyone’s questions. Nolan made a point of talking to everyone on the trip and made us all welcome. He made sure we all had the opportunity to visit ‘restrooms’ (toilets) which is actually very important when out for the day! There were plenty of opportunities for taking photos at the amazing places we visited and Nolan offered to take photos of individuals or families. At the end of the day, he offered to drop everyone off at a convenient location, which was welcome after a full day out. Nolan was a cheerful, polite and very friendly guide and I have no hesitation in recommending him, and Radventures if you are looking to book a tour.

Definitely the highlight of our Banff trip. Michael F., our guide was fantastic, ensuring we had a safe and fun experience. Skating on Abraham Lake was amazing. The scenery is spectacular. Snowshoeing at bow lake was fun. Hiking to Peyto Glacier was great and he helped spot big sheep horn. He took great photos of us as well. Super knowledgeable guide. Learned so much about the area. Do this tour!
