Eat the iconic foods of Calgary in the heart of downtown on this fully-guided tour. Absorb vivid stories of the blue sky city’s history, art, and culture while tasting 4 food and beverage pairings from stellar venues in the heart of the city’s culinary world. Enjoy a 1.5 kilometer easy walking and tasting journey, exploring diverse food offerings in a 2.5 hour time span. There will be 2 savoury and 2 sweet tastings. The beloved Grande Dame of Calgary Hotels, The Fairmont Palliser, anchors the tour with a chef’s demo and three tastings plus a take home recipe. From there stroll historic Stephen Avenue for another satiating savoury tasting followed by a stop at a premiere bean-to-bar chocolate maker before finishing with a soul satisfying dessert.

Nicole was by far one of the best guides we have ever had on a foodie tour. As a resident of Calgary for 20 years, her relationships with chefs and owners plus knowledge of agriculture in Calgary added so much to our experience. She used her background in public relations and broadcasting to engage each member of our group.

I met Lisa and the group at the Fairmont Palliser in the restaurant. It was a good-sized group of 10. There was a demonstration which was awesome and a healthy amount of information shared. After the second stop, I was full, but couldn't refuse dessert at the fourth and final stop. Lisa introduced us to Annex Saskatoon Lemonade, which I picked up later from the grocery store to try. This tour had less stops than I'm used to, but the portions were larger and alcohol was included. Every stop was intentional and I learned a lot. I even made a friend. I hope to do the Farmers Market tour when I return.

This was the best food tour I have ever been on. Lisa was extremely knowledgeable not only about the food, but the history and culture. We made five stops in 2 1/2 hours and I did not feel rushed. It really was a full meal with all of the different tastings.

Karen was an excellent guide and she was full of knowledge regarding the history of Calgary. I'm a long time Calgary resident and I learned lots from her. The restaurants were excellent. The best part of the tour was the Palliser and the Hawthorne Dining Room.

This was excellent. Guide had a wealth of information to share about the foods of Calgary, Alberta. She was a super pleasant person as well. Also choice of restaurants for food tastings was exceptional. And quantity of each tastings was beyond my expectations.

My wife and I are experienced and discerning diners. Our host, Karen, was terrific, as were the people who joined us. Karen is extremely knowldgeable both with regard to food science and the local restaurants. The food and drinks and the restaurants and personnel were very enjoyable. We REALLY enjoyed this experience and recommend to any visitor to Calgary!
