Fairbanks
As our home base, Fairbanks is one of the best locations in the world for Northern Lights viewing — located directly under the Aurora Oval. Each night, our SkyChase™ tour departs from Fairbanks and uses the Lights-for-Life™ Formula to determine the optimal location outside the city for clear skies and strong activity.
Murphy Dome
Murphy Dome is one of the highest accessible points in the Fairbanks area and occasionally used on clear-sky nights for its panoramic views and low light pollution. It’s a prime example of the remote high-elevation locations our team accesses while chasing the Aurora.

This was an absolutely incredible experience! We were able to see so many lights. The staff was very patient and helpful with all of us trying to figure out to take the long exposure pictures. The moblie lodge was warm and cozy to sit in to heat back up. It was not only magical to see the lights......I also got proposed to!!!! They captured it all and made it even more Fabulous! Thank you for an amazing time!

So very cold, but amazing! The staff was absolutely wonderful. They take as many photos as you want. Only down side was that less than half of the customers could fit into the mobile lodge, and you couldn't really feel the campfires due to the extreme cold.

Professional and friendly crew make this tour something special.. Learn about aurora and Alaska while you stay cozy by the fire pits or inside the warming hut. Hot drinks and snacks provided were great. We had at least an hour of active aurora that was thrilling. Crew will take tons of pictures from several different areas. Super safe and an excellent adventure.

This is THE BEST EXPERIENCE we have ever had on a tour. The entire team is so proactive in making sure you don’t lift a finger and have the absolute best time. The guides are so knowledgeable, photographers so talented and they’ll help you with your camera as well, and for being so frigid outside they ensure you stay super warm, well fed, and have lots of drinks. Hunter was our guide and he was incredible!

I had been on three other northern lights tours and never saw the northern lights. This experience was awesome. You are guaranteed to see the lights and they did not disappoint. All the people involved were cool and knowledgeable. The photographers were excellent and got ‘magazine cover’ photos. We saw an incredible light show that was a bucket list event I just crossed off. I would highly recommend taking this trip. I can leave Alaska now knowing I fully experienced the northern lights. Thank you gang, it was an awesome time!

Aurora is not available every night even with ideal weather and aurora forecast. It's better to book with company like this that offers at least 2 nights at no extra cost. Also, aurora is not easy to capture by even the best smart phones unless the kp index above 5. This company tour guide uses professional camera so it can adjust aperture, ISO and shutter speed to maximize lighting. Otherwise, you will see only a faint band of something on your smart phone. They also give you time lapse video that stitches together aurora images to give you a lively aurora video. Extra stuffs they provide like campfire, warm place to wait for aurora, snacks and drinks are good too. Ideally, a glass house, 2 nights of aurora, professional photography would be the best. But this tour offers 2 out of 3.

Absolutely amazing trip, everything we had hoped for on our first day in Fairbanks. The aurora cooperated and put on a spectacular show after midnight or so. Our guides were professional and very knowledgeable, just ask a question and you will get a thorough answer about anything (not just aurora questions) ,from moose habits to locating familiar constellations at these high latitudes. Reindeer sausage was pretty good, too!

The lights were beautiful! The crew was amazing and got great pictures of us and the lights. We didn't chase lights. We were in one spot. Maybe an extra fire pit for that many people would be good. Also cover the dash lights for those staying in the vehicles so they can see the lights better. Thank you for the adventure!
