Fairbanks
As our home base, Fairbanks is one of the best locations in the world for Northern Lights viewing — located directly under the Aurora Oval. Each night, our SkyChase™ tour departs from Fairbanks and uses the Lights-for-Life™ Formula to determine the optimal location outside the city for clear skies and strong activity.
Murphy Dome
Murphy Dome is one of the highest accessible points in the Fairbanks area and occasionally used on clear-sky nights for its panoramic views and low light pollution. It’s a prime example of the remote high-elevation locations our team accesses while chasing the Aurora.

An unforgettable Alaska Northern Lights expedition! We were lucky enough to see the Northern Lights, and it was absolutely phenomenal. Our guide was awesome, very knowledgeable and made the entire experience even better.

Great tour!! Fun guides they shared so much information about the area makes me want to visit in summer time. We stopped 3 times to watch the lights and they were amazing. Loved my adventure.

I ended up doing two tours with this company. While the quality of the northern lights varied (and is out of their control), the tours and guides were amazing both times and I would not hesitate to use them again on my next visit!

Beware! This tour was such a scam. Never had I ever been this disappointed about a tour, like ever. The selling point was apparently the campfire in the snow where hot drinks, reindeer sausage, and s’mores were served. However, we spent over an hour at the campsite with no visible northern lights due to the foggy weather and even though the staff were friendly, no one explained anything about Aurora, nor did they try to find (or “chase to”) another location for a better chance to spot northern lights. Instead, we spent the next two hours driving around without stopping anywhere since the tour guide/driver, Andre, misjudged the distance and the KP forecast as wherever he was heading turned out to be more and more foggy/cloudy the further we went. So he turned around and drove some more before telling us that this was actually an AURORA GUARANTEED tour, meaning that if we did not see any northern lights, they would refund our tour or reschedule another one. That certainly made us feel better and kind of compensated. HOWEVER, not long after that, Andre all of a sudden shouted “Wow! Look at that! What a show!!” and immediately stopped by a pretty well-lit empty parking lot somewhere near Chena Hot Springs and asked everyone to get out to see the aurora, which honestly was even less visible than the one at the campsite. It was so obvious that the tour operator just didn’t want to offer a refund or reschedule so they quickly pointed to the sky and took some pictures for us. Eventually, we got only one photo WITH the tour operator’s logo watermark, a half-eaten sausage bun, and nothing else for the 300 bucks/pax we spent on this whole “experience.” All in all, if you’re looking for Aurora chasing, please check out other tours as this one is not for you. But of course, if you want to see what it’s like to camp in the snow with great music playing in the background but no effort in finding northern lights for you, then feel free to try this out.

This is a truly amazing tour company. It all started the day before we arrived in Alaska when they texted me to ask if we could move our tour up a day earlier because they felt the conditions were going to be excellent that night. We were still in Seattle, so we had to pass. The next day, they asked us to go out 3 hours earlier, as conditions were better then, and they were right! We had a spectacular show of the Lights, And by 10:00 (our original time), the lights were diminished. We really appreciated the fact that they took the current conditions into consideration to maximize our experience. On the tour, they have a trailer with a heated room and a bathroom. They gave lots of drinks and you get to cook (unlimited) reindeer sausage and make S’mores). They have fire pits to sit at. The guides help you set up your camera and they take lots of pictures they send to you. Another good thing is their guarantee. Based on the weather, we had the “Good Aurora Viewing Night” version, and we booked our tour early in our vacation so we could reschedule for a second trip if needed. (No one wants a refund, we’re here to see the lights! On the Cloudy Night version, you can cancel and get a refund or reschedule.) This is expensive, but it’s worth every penny! I am so happy we found these guys!! Thank you!!

Andrew was an amazing guide. He was so impressive with the amount of knowledge for Fairbanks and the aurora in general. All three guides I met on 1-16-26 were absolutely extraordinary and you can tell they get excited for their guests to see aurora. It’s worth the extra bit of money, as I did the other tours as well, but this one was solid. They were highly communicative before the tour, answered my awkward and concerning questions about the weather, with patience and ease, and I was comfortable the entire time. I could have stayed out forever! It was a great amount of time and you can tell these guys make the extra effort. Highly recommend 10 out often. (The sausages and fire out and mobile lodge were so cool and comfortable!!!) thank you so much for this experience

It was a great experience. The team was very well prepared, engaged and knew exactly what they were doing. Extremely friendly and dedicated. Truly amazing experience. Everything was spot on, from communication to logistics and then the actual experience on board once the tour started. Definitely bang for the buck! I highly recommend them!

The team made a great effort in finding the best location to view the aurora. Without their expertise we likely wouldn’t have seen on our trip
