Hato Caves
The first stop is the Hato Caves—a true gem of geological wonder. Upon entering, you’re greeted by cool limestone formations, stalactites, and stalagmites that have been shaped over thousands of years. The guide’s insightful narrative about the caves’ history, from their formation to their use as a hiding place for escaped slaves, makes the experience all the more enriching. The lighting within the caves accentuates the beauty of the rock formations, and the tour’s manageable length ensures you won’t feel overwhelmed. It’s a unique introduction to the island’s natural and cultural heritage.
Playa Piskado/Playa Grandi
Next up is the snorkeling adventure with turtles. The crystal-clear waters of Curacao are perfect for getting up close and personal with these gentle sea creatures. The guides are attentive and knowledgeable, ensuring everyone feels safe and comfortable in the water. Observing the turtles glide effortlessly through the water, surrounded by vibrant marine life, is a truly magical experience. This part of the tour is well-organized, allowing plenty of time for snorkelers of all levels to enjoy the sights. Don’t forget your underwater camera—this is a moment worth capturing!

Such a great day together to see the caves, sea turtles, and a beautiful beach experience. The whole trip was very organized and professional. Highly recommend for families and groups.

Broken down school bus, poorly planned, excessive waiting at each stop, highly disappointed. We are experienced travelers and can enjoy a wide range of excursions. This was the worst one we’ve booked. To start, we boarded a run down school bus with shattered windows, torn seats and barely functioning air conditioning. They kept the windows open and when we hit tree branches as we were driving, leaves and debris flew into the windows and hit us. Our first stop was Hato Cave - we waited almost an 45 mins outside and could barely hear/understand the cave guide (who was not a Samurai guide). After exiting the cave, more waiting outside in the heat. Our guide recommended getting lunch at the next stop where we would see the turtles. We were traveling with 5 kids. It took an hour to order and receive lunch and half of our group didn’t get a chance to swim at all as we waited for our lunch. So no turtle sitings for us! No chairs or reserved places for the group to sit. By the time lunch came, it was time to reboard the bus and we had to get wet kids, wet snorkeling equipment, and the lunch we had ordered on the hot bus which was a 5-10 minute walk through mud. The next unscheduled stop was to see some flamingos standing in a marsh - a waste of time. Then another 45 minute bus ride to the next beach., which was beautiful and had ample seating for us in the restaurant area but not on the beach. The facilities had no toilet paper (maybe the guide should have known this and brought it for her group or let the group know in advance). There was a limited time to enjoy this location and swim due to the delays before. Then another 60 minute bus ride back to our starting point. We spent hours on a hot, torn up bus instead of enjoying the island. In summation, avoid this trip.

The Hato cave tour was interesting and informative. There were not many flamingos to see. The size of this tour is too big for the area we were crammed into to “swim” with the turtles. The turtles were visible from shore but, when too many people and ill behaved children entered the water the turtles were elusive. The beaches were nice to visit.

The bus driver was great and the other Samurai staff were knowledgable about the island. The caves and snorkeling with turtles were worthwhile.

Excellent tour. Thanks to everyone who worked with us. It’s clear that the people running the tour have pride in the island and what it has to offer. Their teamwork was impeccable, at several points there were situations beyond their control and their collective collaboration made for a smoother tour for us. I am thankful that my family took this tour!

Our bus driver, Angelo, was excellent. Our tour guide, Anita, was friendly, funny, and engaging the entire tour. She provided history along the drive to and from destinations. Swimming with the sea turtles was the high point! Highly recommend!

The excursion was good. Guide did a great job. Snorkling was fun (saw a couple of turtles). 2nd beach is small, not a lot of chairs. Caves were interesting, but except for one area you are told cannot take pictures. As a note there are about 93 steps each way ( about 40 are the STEEP ones getting up to caves).

Naomi was awesome as a tour guide and our driver was incredible. She had to back out of a very long road because cars blocked our bus in. I don’t know how she did it. It was impressive. There are two things I think this excursion needs to explain better in their descriptions to have a better experience. The cave and beach have a lot of steps. This is not an easy trip for elderly or handicapped individuals. I also wish they would explain that lunch is available for a fee through the tour itself and if you purchase that way, you get a seat at the beach restaurant. We packed our own lunch because it says lunch is not provided, and then had nowhere to sit and eat at this very busy beach club which was the last stop. The beach club had one bathroom that had no toilet paper or toilet seat. By the time we got there, there were no seats to even purchase and no space to even put one. We found a table at the restaurant and got a few drinks with a lovely breeze and view, but the food took forever. I do think this day was particularly crowded and they were overwhelmed. Overall, the turtle experience and the cave was amazing. Naomi taught us a lot about Curacao and it was clear that she loves this island and the tourists safety is important to her. I think this tour could benefit from not going to the beach or going to a less crowded one as the last stop.

Excellent tour. The caves were cool. The swimming with turtles was amazing!!! So many turtles and they came right up to you! We saw two turtles trying to eat a dead fish! The water was calm and clear to see the turtles. Then we ended at a beach resort. The food was good but I recommend going to the pools at the resort. Infinity pools and the best views!

Overall this is a good excursion. It knocks out two things on our list...see the caves and swim with turtles. Our tour guide Naomi was very good. She is smart and hustles for the customers. The bus that takes you around is an old school bus with no windows. It works and is very island. Stop 1 is the caves. A good 45 minute experience. The second stop at turtle beach. This is a fair beach. You do see turtles and it works. Stop 3 is mostly for lunch. The restaurant is above the beach, The food was fine. The beach is a thin sliver of rocky beach and tt is popular and crowded. Since lunch takes a few, there is not a lot of time on the beach after lunch and getting. a piece of sand is not easy. Overall...worth it but the third beach is meh. TIP for all Curacao beaches....Water Shoes!
