This tour lets you experience the beauty of the hidden Iya Valley at first hand through the magic of the BROMPTON bicycle.
After meeting in Awa-Ikeda, take the train to Oboke Station. While waiting for the bus at Oboke Station, check out the interesting shops. Then take a bus to the Iya Valley vine bridge. Near the vine bridge, you can see the beautiful Biwa Waterfall and go down to the Iya River.
From there, ride on the old road along the valley beside the emerald green Iya River. The beauty and grandeur of the ever-changing valley makes you forget your everyday life. Points of interest include the Hi no Ji Bend, and the Peeing Boy standing on a 200 m-high precipice. The Iya Valley road runs gently downhill for most of the way, so no special physical prowess is required. The rest area has a fine view, perfect for Instagram.
Enjoy the charm of the Iya Valley which can’t be experienced fully by car.

Iya, where the wisdom of the old people is inherited and lives that make effective use of plant resources still remain. It ’s thrilling, but I recommend the best and memorable experience!
Iyakei Valley
Along with a Brompton bicycle, you can run through the superb view of the Iya Valley, which changes its expression with the seasons. The course is centered on a gentle downhill and there are few cars, so you can experience nature while taking a leisurely photo!

The bike tour of Iya Valley was a lovely experience. Tateski our guide met us at the train station and curated a great day. Enjoyed lunch over the gorge, walked vine bridge and he organised an Onsen visit at a hotel with a magic view via an inclinator. The collapsible Brompton bikes were easy to ride through the pine forests and villages. A great day thank you so much.

We had a wonderful day on our brompton tour. My husband and I were the only participants so basically we had a private tour. There were a few little inclines but all achievable. I'm 63 and hubby 71 so young people would have no problem. It was a lovely way to experience the valley, scenery amazing. Takashi, our guide was great and even assisted us with buying our train tickets to get back to Takamatsu.

Visiting the Iya Valley was an extraordinary experience. It is a great activity where you can admire impressive views and beautiful landscapes, all in a peaceful setting, away from the crowds. Many thanks to our guide Takeshi, who shared the history of the different places and answered all our questions. Small clarification: although the activity is presented as accessible to all, even without much confidence in its physical abilities, this remains true despite the difficulty of climbing by bike (15 to 20 minutes in total). This can be stressful, especially in cases of travel fatigue or health problems.

Absolutely wonderful ride! The Bromptons were new to us, but they were super fun to ride, and Miyoshi was a fantastic guide—knowledgeable and kind. Add in gorgeous scenery, quiet roads, and a tasty lunch stop and it was a perfect day.

Takashi San is an excellent tour guide and very passionate about giving his guests the best experience, as well as Brompton culture in Japan. The tour was more expansive than I expected, covering a lot of ground around the Iya Valley, allowing us to take in a lot of majestic sights at a good altitude. It gave me a good understanding of the lay of the land to one day plan my own cycling itinerary of the area, which is the mark of a good bike tour in my opinion. This tour seems to be suitable for all ability levels and the lunch break at a good restaurant with an amazing view was a nice anchor point for the rest of the journey to follow. Highly recommended.

A wonderful, magical experience. We are usually independent travelers and rarely book guided tours. But the Brompton cycle tour allowed us to see and do more in a day than we could have accomplished on our own plus we got the fun of riding bicycles (mostly downhill)! The views were stunning and the ride through forests and small towns was lovely. Our guide was friendly and helpful.

Very well organised tour. The bikes were well maintained and the guides Takahashi and Maya were extremely nice. As we were ahead of time, we managed to visit some other places and a cafe were we could feed colourful little birds from our hand.
