My husband and I were traveling to Tokyo on our honeymoon and had the pleasure of booking the Katsu Curry class with Yuki. It was a 10/10 experience. Yuki was so sweet and the meal was not only absolutely delicious but it was something that we actually feel confident we could make at home. We also picked up a few cooking tips that will help us with cooking other things we usually cook better.

I thoroughly enjoyed learning how to prepare and cook katsu (fried pork cutlet) and from scratch Japanese curry! Although I know a lot about cooking, I learned several pointers on where I can improve as a home cook. My only regret is that I did not take a photo of her rice cooker as I want one!

We had the most incredible time at this Japanese curry cooking class! We were specifically searching for a class that made curry roux from scratch - not using the premade curry roux cubes from a box - and we were so lucky to find this gem. Yuki, our instructor, was absolutely wonderful. She’s personable, friendly, and has such a warm, delightful presence that made the entire class feel relaxed and fun. She spoke excellent English (lived and studied in the U.S.), explained each step clearly, and shared personal stories and insights that added so much depth to the experience. Learning how to build flavor from the ground up gave us a whole new appreciation for Japanese curry. The ingredients were fresh, the techniques approachable, and the end result? Absolutely delicious and something we’re excited to recreate at home. This wasn’t just a cooking class - it was a memory we’ll cherish. If you’re looking for a hands-on, heartwarming, and truly authentic experience in Japan, do not miss this class with Yuki! It takes place at her beautiful and clean home with Pokémon around the house, if you can spot them. I can’t forget to mention that her kitchen was impressively outfitted with high-quality tools and appliances.
