Katuaq Cultural Centre
Nuuk's Katuaq Cultural Center hosts concerts, exhibitions, conferences, and a cinema. Schmidt Hammer Lassen designed it, and it was built as a collaborative initiative of the Greenland Home Rule Government, the Nuuk Municipal Council, and the Nordic Council of Ministers. It was dedicated on February 15, 1997.
The Hans Egede Statue is a famous landmark in Nuuk, Greenland. It honors Dano-Norwegian Lutheran missionary Hans Egede, who established Nuuk in 1728. The monument is located on a hill along the coast above Nuuk Cathedral in the city's old Old Nuuk district. A replica statue by August Saabye stands outside Copenhagen's Frederik's Church.

We enjoyed the breathtaking fjord views, many architectural highlights and some lively marketplaces, right on foot. It was like and urban exploration, but connected with nature. We also interacted with friendly locals. The tour guide was made it all to be an enjoyable experience.

As I am interested in history, I was glad to know from the tour guide about the rich history of the Inuit people, from their ancient hunting techniques to their intricate artwork. The tour was an enriching experience that gave a glimpse into the rich culture and history of Greenland.

I spent the morning with Amr showing me around Nuuk, and telling me history, customs and general information. Amr was the best and a great tour leader. Later he took me in his car to show me areas not walkable from downtown. Amr also helped me find the right tour companies to book other trips while I was in Nuuk.

We began our tour in the heart of Nuuk where ancient meets modern. One highlight was the Greenland National Museum. From start to finish, this 2-hour adventure was authentic and vibrant.

Nuuk was great to be great. Beautiful town, with typical greenland colored cottages. We explored the city on day one, and then a nice walk of its 17 km. Just outside the city is his typical greenland graveyard on the coast, impressive to see. Day two we rented a bike there all roads of Nuuk ridden a bit, with lots of beautiful views. Nuuk is very rewarding.

The tour guide gave the tour participants an informative overview about The National History Museum, where I saw so many artefacts related to Greenland's rich historical past. This tour also took us to an open-air market and I saw freshly caught fish being sold and it was a unique experience for me. If you want to experience the wonders of Nordic history, then make this tour a part of your plan when visiting Greenland.
