What To Expect
Dohany Street Synagogue
The Jewish district is a place for World Heritage sights, such as the Dohány Street Synagogue which is the second largest synagogue of the World. Visit includes the Synagogue building, the Raoul Wallenberg Memorial Garden and Jewish Cemetery. The moving monument of the Emmanuel Tree, established by Tony Curtis. Historic streets and onetime communities. And still: this is a place of so much more than the past. We will cover a second functioning synagogues (outside visit), historical memorials and also have a taste of current happenings of the area. Believe it or not, this very quarter also houses most of Budapest street art and night life.

5.00Great tour with Edith. Saw the Jewish quarter and various memorials as well as two synagogues. Went into Doheny synagogue and the garden area.Well worth the time and walking.

5.00Our tour with Edith was outstanding! Unfortunately, we arrived on Simchat Torah so we could not go inside the Doheny Synagogue but Edith found a way to create a terrific tour through her words and with pictures while ambling around the Jewish neighborhoods. She is smart and insightful and full of knowledge. She was a delight to spend time with and I would recommend her highly!

First of all, it was a good tour, but it was Edith, our tour guide who made this tour exceptional and so memorable. Edith made this a very personal experience and I won’t soon forget this tour, or the stories she told.

5.00Edith was exceptional! Took us to all the sites in the Jewish quarter, from the statue of the priest who saved lives of countless children and the Shoes on Danube, to the Synagogues in the city. Many stimulating and meaningful anecdotes and a thorough explanation of everything. A master guide!
