What To Expect
Jinjuseong
Jinju Namgang Yudeung Festival originates from the floating lanterns that were used during the Jinjuseong Fortress Battle of the Imjin War (1592-1598) as a military strategy to prevent Japanese troops from wading the Namgang River. The highlights of the festival are the floating of lanterns along the Namgang River and the parade of lanterns created by local students themselves. In addition, the festival has various events and programs including a fireworks show, water lighting show, cultural performances, and more.

5.00Do not miss this tour if you‘re coming to Busan around the Jinju lantern festival! We‘ve had an amazing experience with Suyang. He was very kind and planned the tour until midnight, so that we had enough time to explore each area of the festival grounds. Don‘t miss these breathtaking views and especially this tour with Suyang. Thank you for sharing your knowlege and time with us and for the cute lantern and provided snacks! :)

5.00Highly recommended Suyang samchon tour! Suyang reached out to us before the tour to check if we wanted to stay until midnight for the tour! He came with lanterns and flashlight to help us take beautiful photos at night! Suyang speaks English and Mandarin well! Will definitely rebook with him when we visit Busan again!

5.00It was a fabulous tour and I would highly recommend it! Suyang is a wonderful and knowledgeable tour guide, who kept me informed of the tour plans and the tour ran as per itinerary. This was the first night of the Jinju Namgang Yudeung Festival 2024 and were lucky to watch the drone show and fireworks, which is only scheduled on specific nights. Due to the large scale of the festival, we kept together as a group. My tips are to wear comfy walking shoes, as we did not stop for long periods and the walking paths are not always flat. There is so much to see on both sides of the river. Carry water and small snacks as there are few vendors on the castle / fortress side. Plenty of vendors on the other side of the river.
