What To Expect

Durlston Country Park

Durlston Park First stop is Durlston Park. Known for its wildlife, again the gateway to the Jurassic Coast. You will see the castle built in the Victorian period and the Great Globe, which is one of the largest globed in the world. The globe was situated in 1891. And the start of the Jurassic Coast Old Harry Rocks.

Corfe Castle

Corfe Castle / Village of Corfe Then it's off to Corfe Castle. The castle was built by William the Conqueror, during the 11th century, for defensive purposes. It was one of the first stone castles in England; most earlier castles were built with wood and earth. During Medieval times, Corfe became a Royal castle and King John kept his crown jewels there.

Tour from 28.09.25 with Terri. Highly recommended varied tour to the Jurassic Coast, Weymouth and Ile of Portland. We were picked up super punctually from the port shuttle bus stop in Portland and Terri was a very competent guide and a prudent driver. In bright sunshine we had a great time. Thank you Terri

We met Spencer at the castle in Portland after arriving on a Norwegian Transatlantic Cruise. He was very welcoming and organized. We headed off quickly to the beautiful countryside and the Jurassic Coast. Spencer was full of information and seems to appreciate the history and scenery as much as we did! His stops were thoughtful and ample time was given at each stop. His recommendation for food was on the money. He fit in a couple of extra stops that added to our experience. Portland and Weymouth are a beautiful part of Dorset, as seen through Spencer's knowledge and experience. Thanks for guiding us Spencer and making us laugh too!

Thank you for a wonderful tour filled with laughter and learning. Spencer was the highlight of our day and could not have been more accommodating to our groups questions and needs. Well worth every penny and nearly have the price with far more stops than the cruise excursion alternatives.

Spencer was a trrrific tour guide. We saw so many interesting sights. He kept us entertained with informative comments on the sights as well as an assortment of "dad jokes". What a pleasant tour! We had a wonderful time even though it rained on and off all day. Hannah was a lovely guide who was very knowledgeable about the landscape and sights we visited. We had a lovely lunch at a pub and enjoyed Hannah’s company throughout our day. Wishing her all the best.

We had booked this tour after a cx from Viator and SO glad we did. Terri one of Dorset Tours owners, was great!! She is fun, personable, organized, and was an expert on sharing her knowledge and history of Dorset, Portland, and surroundings. The area is beautiful and so glad to hear the perspective of someone who calls this lovely location her home.

Great tour, very clear communication from the tour operator, we were confident we'd get back to the port on time. Variety of places to visit, Spencer, our guide did a great job. The Jurassic Coast was beautiful! Seeing the Broadchurch cliffs was a wonderful bonus.

My boyfriend and I had an amazing time during this tour! Our guide was amazing and took us on more stops along the way! She was very friendly and helpful. Right when we got to the castle we were greeted with the company so it was stress free. Would recommend we loved it!!
