We thoroughly enjoyed our time at the farm. Everything was organized and professional from start to finish. Starting with cacao tea, bug spray and a banana, Katie and Kayleigh were warm and personable. They were extremely knowledgeable about all aspects of cacao farming. The chocolate tasting at the end was fun and very informative. Give these two young women a raise!

This is an unforgettable experience! Well worth the time away from the beach. It was a comfortable and informative opportunity to see how we get the chocolate we can enjoy. Beautiful farm and friendly guide. No questions were stupid questions. Ask away. Such a great experience!

Such a fun, beautiful, and educational experience, led by a very knowledgeable guide, Katie, who not only showed her dedication to and enthusiasm about the cacao and the orchard, but also took an individualized interest in us, asking about and then keying in on everyone’s expectations and interests in the tour, and leaving us with a greater understanding and appreciation of the history, ecology, and future of their cacao farm. So much fun!! Thank you!!

Loved it, one of my top learning adventures in Oahu . Hands on and walk through a real cacao orchard and learn how to grow, graph and harvest cacao as well as vanilla bean. Get to taste fresh raw gelatinous cacao bean, dried cacao bean and roasted cacao bean seed. Afterwards there is a chocolate tasting with tea and water followed by sells of merchandise. This farm way up north is next to a lot of peacocks and located near a town with a lot of eateries for travelers and tourist. Very friendly staff. Restrooms at entrance by travelled parking lot.

The Orchard Tour was excellent. Our guide worked at the Orchard and showed us around. During the tour, you learn about how Cacao is grown and harvested for the local Chocolate maker. What you are touring is once of the local farms which the Manoa Chocolate Company sources its Cacao from. This does not mean that it wasn't fantastic. You will learn so much from the tour and get to taste chocolate. More importantly, you are actually supporting a local farming business native to Hawaii.

Our visit to Kamananui Cacao Farm was nothing short of exceptional! From the moment we arrived, Katie and Matt made us feel completely welcome. Their warmth and genuine passion for cacao created such a memorable experience. Katie and Matt are incredibly knowledgeable — they explained the entire cacao growing and chocolate-making process in a way that was both fascinating and easy to understand. You can truly feel how much they care about what they do, and their enthusiasm is contagious. We learned so much about the history of cacao in Hawaii and the craftsmanship that goes into every batch. The customer service was outstanding. They were attentive, engaging, and happy to answer every question with patience and depth. It felt personal, not rushed, and very authentic. If you’re visiting Oahu and looking for a unique, educational, and delicious experience, Kamananui Cacao Farm is an absolute must. We left with a deeper appreciation for chocolate — and big smiles on our faces. Mahalo, Katie and Matt, for such an unforgettable tour! 🍫🌿

Excellent guide who is also the farm manager with an education which includes cacao farming. Small group of couples and families (16) allowing personal interaction and full discussion of planting to harvesting and on farm processing. Finished with tasting of about 7-8 chocolates from the farm and other HI locations. Definitely worth the afternoon spent on the cacao farming

Our guide (Katie) was very knowledgeable and kind! We had a great time and learned a lot, and not just about cacao, but all the other flora and fauna required to make cacao successful. Our group was small and everyone was nice and respectful. This was one of our favorite experiences in all of our recent travels! The experience was unique, the people are lovely, and the tastings throughout the experience were informative and tasty. Well worth the trip up from Honolulu! Some tips: The orchard had patches of mud (not the entire orchard but it is present) so be mindful of your clothes/shoes. Also, the side road to the orchard is gravel about 50% of the way up, so budget some extra minutes (5-10 extra minutes) for dodging potholes and driving slowly (to avoid kicking up rocks) if you're not accustomed to this kind of driving.
