On the way to Kazbegi, we stop at the picturesque Zhinvali Water Reservoir, and then visit the Ananuri Castle on the Aragvi River. The castle was the scene of numerous battles and served as a shelter for the local population during the wars. Ananuri is considered one of the most beautiful historical monuments of Georgia.
At an altitude of 2200 meters above the sea level, on the southern side of the plateau of the Greater Caucasus Range, and near the Cross Pass, there is the Gudauri Ski resort.
The Panorama Gudauri is a monument to celebrate the friendship between Georgia and Russia.
Stepantsminda is a small town. The main attraction here is the Church of the Holy Trinity – the Gergeti Monastery that is located at an altitude of 2170 meters under the mountain pick of Kazbegi. Due to its location on the top of a steep mountain, surrounded by very harsh nature, the church became the symbol of preservation of the Georgian relics.

Ananuri fortress complex
Ananuri fortress dates to XVI-XVIII centuries and it is situated on the foreland by the river Aragvi. Ananuri was a castle and seat of the Eristavis (Dukes) of Aragvi, a feudal dynasty which ruled the area from the 13th century. The castle was the scene of numerous battles. This is a perfect place for landscape photography, there are amazingly beautiful views of the fortress and Jinvali reservoir together. The fortress remained in use until the beginning of the 19th century. In 2007, the complex has been on the tentative list for inclusion into the UNESCO World Heritage Site program.

We rode with a guide - Timur. The weather was very lucky, sunny and warm. I really enjoyed the tour. The guide tells interesting facts from history. Kazbegi was visible in all its glory. Very beautiful scenery all over the road. It's worth visiting.

This tour was booked via bookings.com. The guide (George) was very professional, knowledgeable and patient. This can be an extremely long day but the time past quickly as we saw incredible sites, made great friends and learned a lot about the region. Highly recommend the parasailing option. Amazing and well worth the money. Very well run tour.

This tour is not easy for the family with a child of 4,5 years old, but our guide Timur did his best to make it easier for us, thanks to him. The views are really incredible, but the whole trip is a bit tiresome.

Best tour guide in Georgia and super interesting places, with lots of free samples like wine and honey tasting. I was able to learn a lot about the Georgian history and culture and had a lot of fun with the tour.

Our guide Timur was honestly one of the best tour guides I have ever had in all my travels around the world. From the moment the tour started, his energy, knowledge, and sense of humor made the entire experience exceptional. I actually joined the wrong group by mistake, but Timur was incredibly kind and accommodating. Even though the group was not originally mine, he made sure to explain everything to me in English so I could fully enjoy and understand the tour. I really appreciated that extra effort. His explanations were not only very informative but also engaging. Timur has a great talent for mixing historical facts with interesting cultural insights, and he often added funny observations about cultural differences between people in the group. It made everyone laugh and created a very relaxed and friendly atmosphere. You can truly tell that he loves what he does and takes pride in sharing knowledge about the place and its culture. Thanks to him, the tour felt lively, personal, and memorable. I would highly recommend Timur to anyone looking for a guide who is knowledgeable, professional, and genuinely enjoyable to spend time with during a tour.
