What To Expect
We start the day learning everything we need to know about olive oil. Most of the island of Kefalonia is covered with olive trees. It is the most important product here both for our economy and our cuisine. At Marina s Oil Mill, we will learn how olive oil is made in the modern method. We will also learn the varying methods of production and quality levels. Have you ever wondered what Extra Virgin Olive Oil means? You’ll find out! In their tasting area, we’ll get a chance to sample different oils and other Kefalonian products.

The art of honey... You may be familiar with wine tastings, but what about honey tastings? With several varieties of honey across our island, you'll soon discover that honey tasting is actually quite interesting and enjoyable! If you want to know what pure Kefalonian honey tastes like, the best solution is to come on down to Vlachata, for an amazing honey tasting experience. 5.00Dimitris was knowledgeable, friendly, professional, and prompt. Learning about true hard work that goes into the delicious honey, olive oil, and wine produced on Kefalonia made tasting them even more wonderful. Experiencing the magic of the island from a local’s perspective was exactly what we wanted. All of the people we met were fantastic, and Dimitris was even our personal paparazzi for the day so we could enjoy the moment and not worry about getting photos of the memories. 5.00Booked this tour for four on a cruise stop. Dimitrous picked us up on time and took us to an incredible olive oil producer where we learned about olive oil and tasted a few different kinds. Next, we went to a local bee farmer and saw the honey process, as well as tasted the honey. The property itself is beautiful. Next we went to a local winery and sample three wines in a very beautiful setting. This was a great tour and our guide was very knowledgeable, thoughtful, and accommodating

5.00We did the Royal Caribbean cruise on the Explorer of the Seas in July 2025. We started in Ravenna, Italy port and had stops in Montenegro, Athens, Santorini, and Kefalonia. Our tour on Kefalonia with Dimitris was by far our favorite cruise stop! We stopped at a local family ran farm that walked us through the honey making process as they have bees and hives. We got to taste different types of honey and they make much more onsite using wax for lip balms as well as flavored honeys. Our next stop was at a place where they work with olive oil and we were walked through the processes of olive oil harvesting, pressing, etc. In addition to that, we had local, fresh olive oil dishes with tomatoes, cucumbers, cheeses, spices, and breads. Finally, we stopped at a local winery where we sampled many different wines and olives. The view was the most amazing view of the Aegean Sea while we sat and relaxed. Our whole family had a great time and it was without question thanks to Dimitris and Kefalonia Tours! Dimitris took many amazing pictures of our experiences for us while we enjoyed each stop on the tour. We would all give more than 5 stars for this tour if we could! Definitely a must and we would do it again!

5.00This type of tour is what makes traveling great. Meeting the real people behind the delicious Kefalonian products. In addition you get to learn about the Greek history (ancient and recent) all you have to do is ask Demetris. If you go to Kefalonia take the time to take this tour. You will not be disappointed and you will have a deeper appreciation and understanding of the island and its people.

5.00We loved this experience so much! Dimitris was a wonderful guide and so informative about the island. Each stop was really well thought out and so enjoyable. It was wonderful talking to individuals (particularly at the bee farm and olive oil stop) who are passionate about what they do - it becomes such a joyful experience. I recommend this to anyone who's looking for a local feel of the island. An experience we won't ever forgot!

5.00Dimitris was great and looked after us as we went round the different locations. He was knowledgeable about the island and even though he’d been to the honey farm many times I’m sure, still had a great interest in the process of extracting the honey. The owners were so welcoming and friendly M answered all our questions and went through the stages of the bees , to end product. Which were lovely and you must buy some. Olive oil tasting was fab too and the owner went through the tastings and process. It was really busy with people suddenly arriving , but she coped well with Dimitris help, and he made sure we were looked after. Finally the Sarris wine tasting. Wow great location and great wines. George took us through the wines and showed us the cellar. It was great not to drive and finally drink wines! Dimitris was so good with my aunt in her 80’s and I would highly recommend booking with him again.
