The tour was amazing! We had such a great time and got to see the main glaciers — it was absolutely worth it!

1. Prepare for motion sickness if you have the propensity for it. 2. Dress in layers to go from sunny and warm to windy and cold to raw and rainy 3. If you bring a camera, especially w telephoto lens, bring a monopod for stability 4. Bring your binoculars

Best cruise ever! Friendly staff, clean and comfortable boat, warm/col drinks. We went on a clear and beautiful day in Seward and had a magical experience! Saw the glacier calving, sea lions, and lo and behold, a super pod of orcas!! Memories made and so thankful we chose Major Marines for this amazing day!

We’ve done the 4 hour tour before and saw a lot of wildlife including 2 pods of killer whales. This time we did the 6 hour tour and not as much wildlife but saw some amazing glacier calving. Just need to come back now in humpback whale season.

Great experience! Definitely a favorite in Alaska. Beautiful glaciers and amazing wildlife, including puffins, eagles, sea otters, seals, fin whales, orcas, a black bear, and sea lions.

The scenery on this cruise is spectacular. They arrange the cruise to see the most interesting spots and minimizing the time in "open waters" which can be rough. Although we saw one humpback whale, admittedly we did not see as much wildlife as I had hoped. Much of that was due to the fact that we made our cruise in mid-September, and most of the whales and the puffins had just migrated. Do pay attention to the notices about weather and rough waters. They are accommodating about this. The day of our booking, I received a text that the seas were rougher than usual and offered that we could still go, reschedule, or cancel with no penalty. We were leaving on the 6:00 p.m. train the next day. So, we arranged for them to pick up our luggage when they picked us up and to store our luggage and transport it to the train station. After the cruise, they got us to the train station with plenty of time to spare. Even with calmer waters on the next day, on the open water portions, the surf was rough. I witnessed many passengers "losing their lunch". I commend the captain for skirting and going through the open waters as fast as possible. So, if prone to motion sickness, consider taking your personal precautions seriously.

The great reviews are well deserved. The crew is excellent, and the viewing experience was wonderful: we saw killer whales breaching and glaciers up close. The only negative was that on the top viewing deck (3rd deck) the commentary by the captain is loud but unintelligible, so you have to choose between 1) the great view on that top deck with noisy but unintelligible commentary, or 2) hearing the commentary information clearly on a lower deck with a less great view. My wife and I chose the upper deck view for the majority of the cruise so we missed a lot of information …and I wished I’d had earplugs because the commentary is plenty loud (just zero clarity) so you’re annoyed by the loudness of the mumbling and at the same time wishing you knew what the captain was saying. This day's cruise was their last cruise of the year, so, hopefully, the company will take advantage of their ship's idle time during the off season to replace the speakers on that top deck with higher clarity ones.

The tour was great, we got to see a glacier up close and that was worth it. The food was terrible that was included, they could do so much better on the food. The staff were awesome and knowledgeable. I gave this a 4 star because of the cost, the high cost would drive many people away at $250 per person. A family of four would be over $1000.I would not do this again as it is a one and done. I think you may be able to drive to some glaciers and get something close (not on water) so check that out before you book. We did see Orca, sea lions, eagles and other wildlife in the distance so that was great. This is my honest opinion.
