This 6-hour cruise explores Kenai Fjords National Park and visits an actively calving tidewater glacier in beautiful Aialik Bay. Our experienced captains will narrate your cruise and point out wildlife such as whales, sea otters, sea lions, puffins, and more. Stop at the mighty Holgate or Aialik Glacier and float among the icebergs as you watch for calving, where giant chunks of ice break off and crash into the ocean. Onboard captain narration and complimentary deli lunch included.

Magical Kenai Fjords—An Unforgettable Alaska Experience

My wife and I spent a week in Alaska during the summer, and it was truly an unforgettable experience. We took the Alaska Railroad Coastal Classic from Anchorage, stayed overnight in Seward, and enjoyed six hours of breathtaking scenery in Kenai Fjords National Park. At Kenai Fjords: We watched whales breaking the silence—black-and-white orcas gliding through the water, and humpback whales breaching dramatically from the depths. Seabirds circled overhead (many of them puffins, gulls, and cormorants), their wings seeming to know exactly how to read the wind. Sea lions lounged on the rocks, perfectly at ease. And of course, the magnificent Aialik Glacier stood before us—holding millions of tons of ancient ice, calving with thunderous crashes that echoed across the bay. Nearby, seals stretched and wriggled on floating chunks of ice, unfazed by the cold. These are memories we will treasure forever. Thank you, Major Marine Tours. Simply amazing! 🇲🇨🇲🇨🇲🇨

I was expecting this to be the highlight of our trip based on reviews and pricing. First, the positive, the crew were fantastic. The sandwiches and surprise munchies were homemade and great. The captain’s narrative was just about right. On the flip side, the motoring at low speeds in calm waters when there was nothing to see wasted time. The time spent at the glacier (over a half hour) was excessive. Time viewing humpbacks again was excessive. Could have easily been a 4 to 4.5 hour cruise. Based on other cruises we have done, the pricing was high for what there was to see. We booked a year ago and thought that would ensure us great assigned seats. Not so. We were in the middle rows and lacked good views that those next to the windows had. Notice to others, when a sighting occurs, don’t expect your view to be not interrupted. Everyone will push and shove to get the best view and will then camp there instead of getting their photo and moving to allow others an opportunity. This was probably the most rude crowd that I had ever sailed with.. but that has nothing to do with the staff.

It was the best run charter boat tour that I have ever been on; no exaggeration. The boat was squeaky clean with a top notch crew.
