First of all, I'd like to thank Karen, the liaison at Jamaica Cultural Tours, and especially our guides Jazmin and Melissa, who were not only both sweeter than the ice-cream we enjoyed during our tour, but more importantly were both incredibly welcoming and highly knowledgeable. Booking with JCT was easy - emails were quickly replied to, and payment was simple. The meeting point was easy to find, and our guides were both early and enthusiastic. We saw some fantastic murals on street walls, which Melissa - a fantastic and brilliant artist herself - gave great insight about, including the artists and the symbolism within the works we saw. Next, we got to visit the local market where Jazmin excelled in telling us about the different produce we saw and sampled. (Sugarcane, by the way, is not to be missed!) We also stopped at a local restaurant to try jerk chicken, and goat curry, both of which were incredible, and then a local ice-cream by the water, which again was amazing (stout ice-cream - who knew!) Finally, we ended back at the National Gallery of Jamaica - our start and end point - where what should have been a 20 minutes quick trip around turned into an hour long art masterclass by both guides. (And apologies to Garfield, our driver for the day, who patiently waited!) We cannot recommend Jamaican Cultural Tours enough. By far our favourite day of our vacation, and we would happily book with them again the next time we come to this magnificent country. JCT - from the bottom of our hearts - thank you!

After 4 years of communicating with Karen, I was great to finally meet her in person. We had to cancel our 2020 visit because of the pandemic. The tour was everything we expected it to be. Karen was extremely knowledgeable and considerate. Her local perspectives were valuable. I was most impressed/surprised with the murals along the Art Walk. Beautiful people, beautiful country. Will visit again.

An anthropological insight of the capital of Jamaica and the culture capital of the word! This is a must experience local, community tour when in Jamaica! Karen and Courtney provided a well organized experience, curated tour of the other side of paradise! Safely navigate Kingston city in a private air-conditioned vehicle, punctuated with stops at the most culturally significant places and communities. The tour provided insiders views and various artistic expressions across the city. More importantly we learnt how art is being used to positively transform communities and streets of Kingston and the positive outcomes for the youths. Keen and Courtney were so courteous and mindful in all their communications with us. We stopped and enjoyed some of the best local food in the city. We totally enjoyed this hassle free and amazing experience! Karen and Courtney are widely known, trusted and respected across the city. This your was well organized and connected with other locally based guides as we entered the art districts and certain communities. Thank you so very much Karen and Courtney! Love and respect
