What To Expect

Kintsugi is a traditional Japanese technique for restoring broken pottery using gold and silver colors. In this hands-on workshop, you will learn how to revive broken pottery and turn it into a one-of-a-kind treasure. No experience is necessary, and a friendly instructor will guide you step by step. You will take home a beautifully renewed piece of work that you have made yourself. This class incorporates traditional Kintsugi techniques but is a shortened version that anyone can easily enjoy. You will have the unique experience of breathing new life into a broken piece of pottery. However, since the work created in this experience is a simplified version, it cannot be used for eating or drinking, but it is perfect as interior art that you can enjoy as a decoration or an accessory tray. The pottery that you restored and designed yourself will become a special one-of-a-kind item, and by displaying it in your home or office, it will become a wonderful art piece that will decorate your space! Mindfulness By immersing yourself in the process of Kintsugi, you can calm your mind and forget the hustle and bustle of everyday life.

It was such a calm, creative, mindful experience, and you get to take home something very special that symbolises the power and beauty of restorative healing and beautiful culture of Okinawa, Japan. Even though mine was not a masterpiece I still loved the end result. The teachers were very kind, helpful and lovely. Thank you

Great experience. I would’ve liked to hear more about what kintsugi is, how they got into the business, etc. Just some more information because you’re pretty much taught how to do it then left alone so unless you go with a group or enjoy chatting to strangers in another group they don’t converse with you too too much lol But overall the process was very cool and they are so so sweet

This was a wonderful experience. They were excellent at explaining what to do and helping you create something to take home. I highly recommend this. You don’t really need to be highly skilled to get something that looks ok. Thanks for a wonderful day.

The experience was fantastic. Very stress free to learn something new. The staff is very helpful and keep things simple. Each step is a fun to learn and the history presented at the end for self reading is very insightful. I would definitely do it again in the future. I love the fact that you get to take home what you make the same day. I would definitely recommend anyone visiting the island to do this experience of you never have done it before. A wonderful memory to take home.

I went alone and no one else was in the studio besides the owners which allowed for a nice quiet, relaxing crafting time. They go over and chdck each step to make sure you can go home with a beautiful piece of art to remember. While it is not food-safe, it is still quite useful as a trinket/ key holder/ jewlery dish.
