Enjoy this spectacular 1.5-hour sightseeing cruise, that takes you across the Knysna Lagoon and out to sea through the Knysna Heads to explore the coves, caves and bays of our rugged and beautiful coastline. With your local, professional guide, experience the highlights from the geological characteristics and the biodiversity of Knysna’s estuarine and marine environment. Get a chance to often see marine life in your shared group, with no more than 25 people. Choose from one of three departure times when you book.

Due to the nature of this tour and the safety of all guests, the tour operator reserves the right to refuse service to passengers who are intoxicated or show signs of intoxication. If, as a result, your tour is canceled, you will not be entitled to a refund.

Minimum numbers apply. There is a possibility of cancellation after confirmation - minimum number of passengers required due to vessel operating weight requirement.

Children are considered a passenger and have a seat allocation.

Marine mammals are free roaming and wild, sightings of any kind are not guaranteed therefore we do not offer refunds for no sightings-

What To Expect

Knysna Heads

The Knysna Heads is our passage to sea. We travel through them and out into the ocean. Depending on the day we will take you to the various caves and coves that skirt the headlands.

Knysna Lagoon

The Knysna Lagoon is a big part of our tour. We travel through it to proceed out into the ocean and come back into our moorings at Thesen Island Marina. Passengers can admire the beauty of the Knysna estuary and its surroundings from the boat as we cross the estuary.

It was a great experience. The captain was very friendly and helpful in sighting sea animals. We managed to see some very playful seals that warmed themselves and some dolphins and plenty of sea birds. The sights were just breathtaking beautiful

Our skipper, Eastern, My Man!!! The passage between the heads out to see was an adventurous ride, he was in full control…. I had a big smile on my face there and back. We saw a massive school of dolphins playing in the serf of the big waves that were heading towards shore… first class!!!

The boat trip was great! We saw some seals and the coastline of Knysna. The people are super nice and have informed us several times about bad weather. We were pushed on a tour on a day with better weather. An overall great experience!

Simply everything around succeeded. We have seen dolphins and a great coastal landscape with many caves. The sea was out but the driver compensated fantastically.

Great experience! Fantastic boat and great skipper, who tries his level best to turn this into an adventure. Provides for a lot of information on everything at sea. Being after season we weren't fortunate to see whales. But the dolphins and seals were nice to see.

Hard to decide which boat trip to take, but we were very happy with this. It was fun in the boat, much better than a sedate trip just around the lagoon, although we did that as well. Out in the ocean we were lucky enough to spot whales, seals and then 2 pods of dolphins who swam alongside the boat, giving plenty of photo opportunities! The guide was knowledgeable and the trip was just the right length.

We saw humpback dolphins and a few seals. Crew were lovely and the boat ride was fun. The wakes are quite big and the boat goes quite fast so it’s quite bumpy but we really enjoyed it. My 4yo son was a little scared at times but he loved the experience overall.

We saw 3 seals. The team were nice but it was just really disappointing. I feel like we wasted time and money for something when we were told the best time to go but initially asked to go later.
