This was not like other food tours. We went to two different restaurants and tried several different foods. We went to a more modern restaurant and then a more traditional restaurant. The more traditional restaurant you sit on the floor and take your shoes off. We did not tour the city or learn any history of Japan or Kyoto on this tour. The food was wonderful and our tour guide was very nice..

The experience was very knowledgeable and got us acclimated well with Kyoto. We had Masa as our tour guide and he brought a lot of great insight and amazing food options! Would definitely do again!!

Amazing experience with Masa seeing and tasting foods we wouldn’t have otherwise known about. Great history and all the food was delicious from start to finish.

Me and my partner had a fantastic time on this tour! Our guides, Uta and Masa, were very knowledgeable and helped us find places and try food we never would have on our own! On top of this they were both incredibly kind and friendly, the whole experience felt very personal. The food and drink itself were delicious and off the beaten track. We cannot recommend this tour enough!! Thank you both so much for having us! xx

Mao was so personable and insightful. She shared so much information with us and helped us make choices even for the rest of our trip. The food we shared was filling and delicious. There were many items I never would have ordered. She also took into consideration our likes and dislikes and made choices for us accordingly. I highly recommend.

Mao was awesome, we had a great time going to some different restaurants and izekayas! She knows a lot about some Japanese classics and taught us a lot about the food and drinks! Highly recommend.

I would highly recommend this experience to anyone who wants to get a true feel away from the touristy areas and see and taste where the locals congregate and drink and dine. Our guide Nao is now a new friend we want to remain in contact with for future adventures in Kyoto, he truly rocked the evening and spoke good English as well. Book , ask for Nao , you won’t be disappointed!!!

We had a great time with Uta. She was thoughtful about our food requests. We are a family of four with two teens and they enjoyed the experience and especially the conversation and karaoke! Happy birthday to our co-guest!!

Uta was amazing! She showed us some super local spots, ordered great food and drinks and was just a gem to have guiding us! Any questions you had she would answer! She sparked conversation and asked questions! You should consider yourself so lucky if she guides your tour! Thank you for a wonderful birthday!
