I have never had a bad experience with Viator, having utilized them for years, until now. We spent a lot of money on these tickets, and the experience was terrible. I feel guilty leaving only one star as I know Viator only subcontracted this tour, but this really is only a one star review, as I would never do this tour again nor would I ever recommend it. I contacted the tour operator the day prior to the tour, through the app which was very easy as is typical Viator, requesting a schedule. They did respond quickly, sending me a copy of the schedule, and we planned out our day. Only to find when we actually went to the first stop, that they sent the wrong schedule. It had been totally revamped, both bus lines were completely different. Also, the stops were at a minimum 1 km from every site. They also were not very forthcoming in terms of where to go to see the sites. It ended up being a bit of a frustrating day, which really was due to the fact that we spent so much time trying to figure out a new schedule, as well as trying to find the sites that were supposedly on or near the stops. Viator, I would recommend you look for an alternative organization to work with for a hop-on hop-off service. It is definitely not up to your usual high standards and experiences.

A little hard to find where to get the bus at the terminal, it is a very large place but otherwise a great tour. I would suggest to have water for people on the bus as it was extremely hot out. Wonderful East side tour sitting on top in the air conditioning!

This is an easy way to look around Kyoto. But the buses come every 50 minutes and so there is only so much you can plan. However they are courteous and very helpful. Our business for Blue line was running late with risk of missing connection but we made it!

The Hop on hop off is very good but Viator Viator is significantly more expensive than other operators
