Great Colombian countryside experience! You will do the hike on your own - the path is totally safe!
90 minutes drive from Bogotá, La Chorrera waterfall at 590 meters is the highest in Colombia. Despite this fact, not very many people know of its existence – it’s another hidden gem. The site can be accessed by crossing the 3400-meter high mountains around Bogotá.
The scenery leading up to the waterfall is wonderful, green, with lots of fresh air. The hike itself is not the easiest, there and back it takes around 3 hours. But the view and the scenery makes it very much worth your while!
There’s also a smaller waterfall at the beginning of the hike, El Chiflon, of which you can even go behind – it provides an incredible experience for hikers. On the way to La Chorrera waterfall you go through a fantastic ‘fog forest’ that is surrounded by local farms. You can get refreshing drinks and food from local farmers (freshly made stuffed arepas and empanadas).

Our driver contacted us in time and picked us up at the hotel on time. He dropped us off safely at the entrance to the park and waited for us until we got back. The hike was a bit strenuous but worth it. Anytime again

This was my favorite day trip from Bogota! My driver, Luis, was friendly and I was able to chat with him a bit in the car with my limited Spanish. Once we parked, he walked me up the road to the La Chorrera park entrance and bought my wristband and lunch ticket. After watching the brief intro video for the park, I set off on the trail solo. The hike is gorgeous, well-marked, and I saw lots of beautiful birds including a Black-billed Mountain Toucan, Blue-capped Tanager, Saffron Finch, and Golden-fronted Redstart. I enjoyed being able to go at my own pace. The waterfalls are incredible. You bring your lunch ticket to the restaurant at the smaller waterfall near the end of the hike, and I was so grateful that they were able to accommodate my vegan diet. They served me a generous portion of rice, plantain, mushrooms, tomatoes, corn, lettuce, and avocados with blackberry juice. It was filling and delicious. Overall, a memorable and absolutely wonderful day!

Organized by Péter, our driver came to our house and dropped us off at the end of the tour. The driver spoke everything in English, but with google translate and our poor Spanish knowledge, we talked throughout the time we spent in the car. On the spot, he accompanied us to the starting point, arranged everything for us and pointed us in the right direction. At the end, he waited for us there and took us home. The hike is not difficult, but hiking shoes and water are recommended. We received a small package containing half a liter of water, apples, chocolate, biscuits, toilet paper and a raincoat. We were in a dry season, so it wasn't necessary, but a very nice gesture. We asked for the tour together with lunch, so we got a delicacy that was difficult to repeat in the country. I wholeheartedly recommend the tour to anyone who likes to be in nature, not just in big cities. And with Péter, no one can touch him, the organization was flawless.

Omar was on time, friendly and clean car. Trip to waterfall was terrific if not longer due to Bogota famous traffic. The waterfalls was beautiful. He walked to ticket center and we were off to hike the trail. Hike was about intermediate with some climbing. The views was amazing as well as the lunch that was included. After eating lunch the second waterfall was there to view.

Amazing views on the drive there (took about 1.5 hours) into the panoramic valley east of Bogota, and then freedom to hike to three main places - Cueva de los Monos, La Chorrera, El Chiflon - plus some 'off-piste' options. Great views, good hiking (some mud/slippery rocks so take good shoes), and a good lunch. All well-organised by Peter at YourColombia who was very responsive on communications.

The whole experience was fantastic! As soon as we booked the trip through here, the organizer, Peter, got in contact with us through WhatsApp right away to give us the itinerary for the trip. He was also very reachable and available for any questions that we had. The day of the trip, we got picked up at our hotel, drove to the park where the driver got down with us to purchase our entrance and lunch tickets. The hike to La Chorrera is not the easiest so definitely eat a big breakfast before! It took us about 1.5 hours to make it to the waterfall, and the same time to walk back. The path is also very clearly marked and organized, and there are park staff along the way in case you need help. The lunch area near the smaller waterfall, El Chiflón, is very nice and the food is delicious. Overall an amazing and breathtaking experience; highly recommend the journey and booking through this agency!

Thanks Sergio for letting me have such an amazing experience! The ride from Bogotá to the starting point of the walk/hike is around 1:20 hrs. For people with a medium fitness level it is absolutely no problem to go on this hike. We walked through the rain forest and the foggy forest, visited La Chorrera and the smaller waterfall with enough time for little breaks to take fotos and enjoy the landscape and nature. On the way back we had dinner at a very small Cuban restaurant, that was amazing. My guide Sergio picked me up around midday, which was a wonderful idea, as we were able to appreciate the sunset over the mountains during dinner. I can highly recommend this trip!
