This tour allows you to visit the charming villages of Lacock and Castle Combe in an afternoon giving you the morning to enjoy other activities in Bath. The villages have changed little over the centuries making them a popular place to film period films and TV series. As a private tour you will benefit from having your own personal guide (a local guide born in Bath) to show you around the villages as well as private transportation. The tour includes the chance to sample the famous traditional English cream tea - an experience all visitors to England should try!

What To Expect
Lacock
You will be collected at 1:30pm and driven to the village of Lacock, approximately 45 minutes from Bath. Your guide will take you on a walking tour of this charming village which has featured in numerous films and TV series (e.g. Downtown Abbey, Harry Potter). Your guide will point out traditional village features and show you some of the locations for the films.
Castle Combe
The village of Castle Combe, once voted the prettiest village in England, is a great example of a Cotswold village. Your guide will take you on a walking tour of this tiny village and will explain about the history of the Cotswolds and the village. At the end of the tour there will be a stop to enjoy a culinary experience which all visitors to England should try - the traditional English Cream Tea! (Scones with cream & jam and a pot of tea).

5.00This might be my favorite tour that I have ever booked. Dan was absolutely great. He was very accommodating and communicative ahead of the tour. He was very relaxed and easy to talk to and was very informative. My favorite part was not only did he tell you the history and fun facts but would show film clips so you could see the building (for example) he’s showing you in the movie scene! I thought it was great to see both at the same time without having to do the research myself. His points of interest were well thought out, and he seemed very genuine, which I appreciated and enjoyed. Also, the cream tea location was fabulous, and the scones were delicious! I would book one of Dan’s tours every return to Bath…no hesitation. He is a fun personality!

They had a great time and will remember lots about this tour, thanks to Daniel’s amazing story telling. The adults will remember lots as he made our tour an enjoyable and educational experience, which we all thoroughly enjoyed. We loved both towns and the cream tea was a joy to sit down to! 5.00We had a great time even on a rainy day. Daniel played the movie clips for us so we could see what was filmed at the areas we visited, which made the areas come to life. He had so much information on the history of Bath, Lacock, and the Cotswolds as well. Highly recommend this tour!
