Very informative that is exactly as described. Real raw look back at Cape Town and South Africa’s history.

I really enjoyed the tour, especially our guide Nela and all the things we got to see/learn about. I would definitely recommend it to others for educational purposes, as well as to immerse yourself into African culture and history.

This tour was one of the most touching and meaningful experiences of our trip. We truly got in contact with the real life of the township and learned so much in just two hours. Our guide, Nela, was absolutely outstanding — knowledgeable, passionate, and incredibly good at sharing stories and emotions in a genuine way. You are truly special and the work you do is very important, so please keep doing it with the same passion. Even though the tour lasts only two hours, they are two intense hours full of stories, life, and reflection. Once the tour ended, we realized what is really important in life and came away with a different perspective on the world. Thank you again, Nela, for giving us such a powerful experience.

Smiley was a wonderful guide, we got thorough insight into the vibrant life of the inhabitants of Langa. We are glad things are getting better, slowly but surely, and wish all the people of Langa health and hapiness. Thank you Smiley for the most interesting tour.

This was the first activity we did in capetown. Our guide name was Nela [hope I have spelt that correctly] He was amazing. We were lucky enough to have Nela all to ourselves. He was so friendly as were all his friends to us as he walked us through the township providing lots of details about their history and culture which he was so passionate and proud about, and rightly so. Obviously it is an eye opener and very sad to see, but it is important that people are educated about the huge poverty divide that still exists! Definitely a most tour

I got lucky and had a solo tour with Ingrid and Enersh and it was a great experience. They showed me around the township and gave me lots of background information and insights into their way of growing up and living. As it was only me, I could ask lots of questions and we had very interesting conversations. I wasn‘t sure beforehand if I should do the tour or if it would make me feel uncomfortable, but they assured me that most people in their township are welcoming towards (white) visitors, so I think this is a nice way of breaking down apartheid walls and a chance of interaction that would otherwise have not occured.

I had an outstanding experience on the Langa Township Walking Tour with a local guide. Smiley was my guide, and he did an incredible job providing a real, authentic overview of Langa. This was not just a tour, it was an education. Smiley took the time to explain the history, the culture, and the day to day life in a way that was honest and meaningful. You could feel the pride he has for his community. One thing that stood out to me was learning that sheep heads are considered a delicacy. Moments like that remind you how important it is to understand and respect local traditions. What really stayed with me was the resilience and sense of community. You see it everywhere. People supporting each other, building, and moving forward with strength. If you are in Cape Town, I highly recommend this tour. Ask for Smiley. You will walk away with a completely different perspective.

This tour was perfect. We were guided by the wonderful Nela, who lives in the Township and knew pretty much everyone there! We were picked up promptly from our accommodation then taken to meet Nela. We started by looking around the museum, which was eye opening and shocking. We then had a tour around the Langa Township, meeting the friendly locals and being entertained by the beautiful children. Because Nela was a local, it didn't feel like voyeurism (which had been my concern). We finished at a church service and then were collected by a driver - who also lives in the Township- to take us back to our accommodation. This really was a wonderful morning.
