Eagle Square (Dataran Lang) is Langkawi’s iconic landmark and an absolute must for any visitor. The main attraction is the massive 12-metre-tall sculpture of an ES eagle pair, whose wings proudly rise into the sky and capture the moment when it majestically takes off. The name "Langkawi" derives from the old Malaysian words for eagle ("Helang") and brown ("Kawi"), which makes this place of profound cultural significance. Set against the backdrop of the azure Andaman Sea and the surrounding green islands, the square offers not only a perfect photo subject, but also a picturesque and peaceful place to enjoy the fresh sea breeze and feel the history of the island.
