What To Expect

Get a convenient pickup service by songtaew (a passenger vehicle in Thailand) from your hotel on Koh Lanta along the main road between Saladan and Kantiang Bay. Start the course with a welcome drink and get useful cooking instructions from the Thai chef with many years of experience. Learn how to cook healthy and delicious Thai food with a practical hands-on approach to surprise your family and friends at home as a gourmet souvenir from Thailand. Two classes per day are held in a spacious teak-wood house just inland in the south of Phra Ae Beach (also known as Long Beach), and many of the vegetables and spices are sourced from an on-site organic garden. Midday and evening classes last for 4 hours. The group will collaboratively choose 4 dishes from the available selections which change for each course. The menus offer a good mix of salads, soups, stir fries, noodle dishes and curries made from hand-made pastes, plus enjoy a feast of your own making at the end of the class! All dishes can be made vegetarian per request, please let us know upon booking.

What a great afternoon. Sun was a brilliant teacher and we thoroughly enjoyed it. It was our favourite activity on Lanta. Can't wait to try the recipes at home. Tip: Don't eat much beforehand. Thank you Sun

Simply great fun and useful. I cook a lot at home but not much Thai, which I will certainly be doing from now on! The ladies who teach are very friendly and have a great way of teaching. Highly recommended.

The best experience we've had in Lanta. A great warm welcome from the staff and clear explanation of the procedure. Since we were few of us (3 people), we had to experience a few dishes each. There is a little book with recipe and the teaching is very practical. Ingredient are fresh, easy to cook and you feel proud of yourself after finishing. Each dish is less than 10 min cooking, very easy to reproduce at home. We can't thank enough the chef and staff of this lovely place, and we look forward to coming back once more... And discover new recipes!

Did the cooking workshop with my son. What a beautiful place and top organized cooking workshop! We were taught by a very nice enthusiastic lady who explained it all very well. We made four dishes and it worked out very well and tasted fantastic! Thanks Lanta Thai Cookery School you are highly recommended! Paul and Margot

Had a very nice afternoon. There were three of us. So it's kind of a private lesson. We each got to choose a dish and make a joint choice for the fourth dish. San is an experienced cook. Everything was well arranged. Beautiful clean location.
