The Lava Show in Reykjavík was an absolute blast. It was fascinating, exciting, and definitely worth the visit. Mr. Lava Lava did a fantastic job demonstrating the lava — he was engaging, knowledgeable, and made the whole experience both educational and entertaining. We learned so much. It does get very warm in the room, so be ready to shed a few layers. Overall, a unique and really fun stop in Reykjavík.

Reasonable price. The host was knowledgeable and funny. Provided us with meaningful information. comfortable seating and top marks for explaining safety information. Fair price for the admission as well. It was a wonderful experience. I spent about an hour and enjoyed the gifts area as well. It was quiet time, it was not crowded, when I visited so I had good seats for the viewing.

This was the first trip booked on our trip to Iceland & having a 15 year old we thought be a good start and it lived up to expectations! Mr Lava Lava was an excellent host, sharing his knowledge in an informative way that was factually correct and easy to understand. We booked the premium tickets and arriving early we were shown upstairs in a very welcoming and comfortable lounge. Drinks were included and it was lovely to sit and relax before the show stared. Afterwards we were not rushed out and got to see another short video. Once back in the lounge we are presented with a piece of lava each in a pouch which was lovely to bring home. I’d read mixed reviews before booking but as a family we all throughly enjoyed the experience and would definitely recommend.

A very good experience. It's basically an introduction to the speaker and the organisation, followed by an informative video on Iceland's volcanic activity, then the lava itself with cool demonstrations on its flow and behaviour, and finally time for Q&A at the end. The type of lava they pour is that typical 'movie' style lava that's very runny and glowing red hot. It was very cool to actually witness it and see lava as we've never seen it before, and the way the presenter handled it was scaringly impressive. I was hoping to hear maybe some folklore stories connected to volcanos or lava to help shape up the presentation, as it almost felt basically like a science demonstration. I also thought to share a breakdown of what the premium ticket gets you. We had to buy these as the standard tickets sold out so I feel more impartial to this review. It's about 3500 ISK more. For that, the added bonuses with premium ticket gets you: access to the 'VIP' lounge (can be 30 mins early and can stay 10 mins afterwards) where you can keep your bags, whilst in VIP lounge can view close-up and handle real rock samples, get to try on volcanology suit, 1 drink of choice (hot/cold, alcohol/non-alcohol), the upstairs seating, you also stay upstairs after the show ends to watch a 5 minute video on the BTS of how they make the lava, and take home a piece of volcanic rock. However, the volcanic rock (which you can buy in the shop anyways) and the drink pretty much make up the extra price of the premium, so the bonus is really for the lounge (with the exhibits mentioned), the bonus video, and the seating. I'm not sure the seating itself is such a premium - yes you actually get to see all the action very clearly and you feel the heat, but after the show the standard ticket people actually got to get up close to the cooled lava, and take a few pics. So hope that helps in favouring your decision. I might suggest to the company to help add to the premium experience they could 1. Offer to also come down after show ending to see close up 2. Offer a photograph (not printed, can just be electronic/QR code) - there was a model rock formation in the main hall they could use that we could pose.

We stopped by Lava Show Reykjavík as a team visit from Amarok Adventures, and honestly, it surprised us in a good way. Seeing real molten lava poured right in front of you is pretty unreal. You feel the heat, hear it crack, watch it move. It’s simple, but it works. The guides at Lava Show know what they’re talking about and keep it interesting without overcomplicating things. It feels genuine, not like a typical tourist setup. Everything runs smoothly, and the whole experience is well put together. Definitely something we’d recommend. It’s different, and it’s done right.

What an amazing show. Very informative. As we were paying for the premium we were able to sit upstairs but we could still feel the heat. It is real lava they create foe the show. And a nice trinket to take home.

The show was great! Glen was our presenter and he made the show so enjoyable. It was a very cool experience and we feel like we learned a lot from the trip. I went with my sister and it was a great time.

Volcanoes were always my favourite geography subject at school so I found this absolutely fascinating! Luis, the presenter, was spellbinding. I was not sure what to expect but it is presented in a very small setting (probably only 2 rows in a horseshoe shape) so everyone has a good view. It gets VERY hot once the lava flows so leave your jacket in the bus/car. It starts with a presentation, then a video about volcanoes and drawings representing the last 1918 eruption from Katla - this was totally mesmerising. After this, the controlled lava flows down a cordoned off channel into the room with demonstrations about how lava flows, solidifies and changes. This really is a must for anyone to visit in Iceland. Loved it! 45 minutes went by in a flash with opportunities for questions after. Amazing presentation Luis!
