5.00Handlebar Neil rocked this show with a great balance of knowledge, storytelling, humor, audience interaction and presenting the sheer power and heat of lava. The whole setup is pretty unique; it even has you wondering the whole show if it really IS safe…but they go above and beyond, thinking of every measure to keep guests intrigued, while still delivering a shockingly safe front row - or second floor balcony with a drink - experience. Some ticket prices include a chunk of cooled lava, or obsidian-like tachylite, that is from an actual volcanic eruption in the past (since taking your own lava rocks from nature is not cool and mostly illegal), and they’re also available in the gift shop along with many other unique mementos. The Lava Show is something that is truly unique to Iceland, both in experience and tech advancements, so add it to your bucket list and you won’t have to explore erupting volcanoes on your own.

3.00Impressive to see and feel the warmth of lava. But honestly we were a little disappointed: it lasted max 50 minutes and apart from the lava, there was nothing spectacular. Anyway, we expected better.

5.00We did the Premium ticket and it was amazing. Having a cocktail during the show was nice and it was nice to have the higher view to see the lava flowing. The lava presenter was very knowledgeable and it was very cool to see lava in a safe way. I learned so much and it was such a unique thing to do.

We booked the Premium tickets which gets you access to a cool VIP lounge (with one drink included in the price), and balcony seating with the best view of the show. It’s a fascinating, fun and absolutely very cool thing to do, and it’s unlike anything you will have seen. As part of the premium ticket you also get a lovely memento gift of an actual piece of the glass-like lava. One of the highlights of our trip to Iceland.
