Combining snorkeling and caving gives you the ultra experience of Icelandic nature. You will explore the hidden world of the lava fields on foot and underwater. The cave we will visit is called Leiðarendi. The 900 meter long lava tube offers unique rock formations, such as stalactites and shelves.
Some light crawling may be required yet Leiðarendi cave has a rather easy access to the underworld wonders of the Icelandic lava fields.
Snorkel in between two continents at one of the top diving sites in the planet! Silfra is located in Iceland’s National Park, Thingvellir, and is a fissure that was formed by the divergent tectonic drift of the Eurasian and North American plates. Great to combine activities especially if you don’t have a car. Lava cave is interesting and the lava fields it is under are also impressive. Silfra looks like not much more than a ditch from above and on a dull and snowy day I was sceptical. Put your head under the water and you immediately forget about all the hassle of getting kitted up . Crystal clear water and beautiful rock formations . Definitely worth the effort and the cold hands and face. Adventure Vikings very good professional company with friendly, helpful and informative guides

One of the best things I've ever done. Once you're in the water in a dry suit, you don't feel the cold at all. I was very worried about swimming and trying to stay afloat, but the dry suit takes care all of that, you just have to keep calm and enjoy the view. Our snorkeling guides, Vero and Chicco were excellent and funny and such great company. There was another chap from Mexico, I can't remember his name, and he was wonderful as well. What a great experience! The lava caves were breathtaking and an experience I'll never forget.

Absolutely amazing experience. The lava cave was beautiful as were the mountains around it. The guide “B” was funny, helpful and full of information. The snorkeling was unbelievable. Both Luis and Alberto were fantastic guides. They were charming, funny, and very helpful/professional. You have the option of a wet or dry suit and they do a great job explaining both and getting you suited up. Once in the water, it is breathtaking and the length of time is perfect! Once in a lifetime tour

Lava Caving was wonderful . Our guide was patient, prompt, he loved to share his enthusiasm for caving. Sadly we were unable to take part in snorkeling. We unaware of requirement for Dr's ok over age 65. Please make sure ALL travel sites emphasize in their description. 😎 All in all A+
