It’s the perfect mix of nature, culture and history; enjoy Lesotho’s natural flora and fauna, driving past Lesotho’s highest peak, dive into the culture of the Basotho people in this historical trading post and take a peek into history by getting to see the beautiful old buildings that pack lots of history into this small village. Lesotho is the only country in the world that is in its entirety above 1000m in elevation, making this an experience that you cannot enjoy anywhere else in the world!

We head up to the highest pass in South Africa, Sani Pass. We travel through Himeville to the World Heritage Site of the uKhahlamba Drakensberg Park, following the Mkomazana River up the scenic Sani Valley to the South African Border Post (border formalities) and the Lesotho Border. After the Lesotho border formalities at the top of Sani Pass, we climb even further into the Lesotho highlands, all the way to the top of the Black Mountain pass. At the top of Black Mountain Pass we get a chance to leave our vehicle, climb a short distance to a beautiful viewpoint of Thabana Ntlenyana. We arrive in the town of Mokhotlong and enjoy lunch together We visit a cultural Basotho village

After a hearty breakfast, we join up with you again for day two’s activities. Choose between a hike or horse ride at the top of Sani Pass or Come back down the pass to explore the villages of Underberg and Himeville and its museum. We arrive back in Underberg, in time for lunch, if you aren’t in a hurry we’ll choose the best spot in Underberg to have lunch together, or stay up in the mountains and have lunch at the Highest Pub in Africa

5.00Wow. We were a large group who wanted to experience Lesotho and Sani Pass. Never attended better! It was a very good arrangement from start of the trip to the end of the trip. We got to ride horses, see the locals, eat good food and much more! Our guides were More and Warren, they were amazing and told us lots of interesting things about Lesotho and Sani Pass. This is a trip I will not forget thanks to our wonderful guides who made this trip so good.

5.00It's a lifetime experience! Me and my husband had such a great time with Roof Of Africa :) All their staff is super kind and helpful and our guide, Mondli, is absolutely amazing. Well organized, exciting, and perfect for nature lovers. We loved everything about this tour; birdwatching (our best birding tour in Africa!), horse riding, cultural villages... 5.00Our Guide was incredible had many interesting facts and stories to tell us along the way. But the best bit was getting to The Highest Bar after an awesome drive up. We spent the night in Lesoto at Mokhotlong well worth the extra night only wish we could have spent a few more nights as Lesoto is a fascinating country to visit, The drive down the Sani Pass was perfect as our Guide had gauged the weather perfectly and this time we had perfect weather to enjoy the scary road. Thanks Roof of Africa for such an Incredible experience
