What To Expect

Why not make a lovely accessory that will look great in a variety of situations? You also can quickly make those accessories sold in souvenir shops in Kyoto. Recently, creative Mizuhiki has been broadcasted on TV and has become popular. In Japan, Mizuhiki was used for "sacred things" in rituals. Even now, it is tied to an envelope that gifts money when celebrating and other occasions. Do you know that Mizuhikis are so colorful? Let's make cute accessories and ornaments. 1. Choose colored papers to make "Pochi bag". (mini bag) 2. Tie the basic "Abalone knot" to the pochi bag. 3. Practice a Abalone knot with just a string. 4. Select the accessory you want to make from the sample. 5. Choose some Mizuhikis and experience accessory making. 6. Take a break with Matcha and sweets. The work is published on the Instagram. Please look by all means. 『rakue9』 If you want an earlier time, please contact us as soon as possible to increase the reservation frame.

I feel exceptionally lucky that I was able to take this class one on one. The designs look very complicated but my instructor (I never asked her name 😭) was very patient with me and helped me make a beautiful set of earrings! I hope I can come back to learn other designs!!

So much fun. You get in a zone and focus and the time flies. We also got matcha, sweets and extra materials to make more things at home. I can't wait to make more accessories at home and gift to friends

I was looking to sample various Japanese crafts while I was visiting and this was a lovely time. The hostess was gracious and patient and I left with a pair of earrings, a key chain charm, and more.

Akemi is a patient and kind teacher. She demonstrated how to make the basic knot and then guided me to learn how to make a leaf knot and a flat plum knot, first with one mizuhiki cord, then with 2, and 3 different colors. I made pieces that can be hung on my daypack. I enjoyed my lesson very much. I highly recommend Akemi’s lesson if you want to learn a Japanese traditional craft.
