Our Historical Downtown Tour explores the three oldest neighbourhoods of Lisbon - Alfama, Mouraria and Graça as well as the bohemian neighbourhoods of Chiado and Bairro Alto. We’ll show you the historic monuments, charming streets and beautiful viewpoints all found in this historic part of town.

What To Expect
Lisbon Cathedral
The construction of the Lisbon's Cathedral was ordered by the 1st King of Portugal in 1147 and was the 1st church in Lisbon.
Miradouro Das Portas Do Sol
This is the highest viewpoint of Alfama (the oldest neighbourhood of Lisbon). there's also a small remaining part of the original medieval wall of Lisbon and the statue of St. Vincent (the patron saint of Lisbon)

5.00Joao is a great tour guide. He is very knowledgeable and entertaining. We learned so much about Lisbon and Portugal in the hours we spent with him. We also went to Belem to see the famous monastery and try the world-famous cream cakes at Pastelaria Pasteus de Belem. Worth the trip!!

5.00Our tour with João was amazing! He is everything you want in a tour guide - knowledgeable, friendly, local, a good driver and just genuinely a very fun person to converse with. Me and my partner visited Lisbon and booked the LGBTQ+ History of Lisbon Tour and could not be happier with the result. João showed us the rich queer history of Lisbon intermixed with showing us more general historical landmarks and beautiful views. The tour felt very personal and catered to our specific interests, and it was special to see just how beautiful the queer history of Lisbon is with someone who knows the city and scene so well. I could not recommend João enough! Even if you aren't doing specifically the LGBTQ+ tour João proved to me that he'd deliver a wonderful and entertaining experience no matter which tour you book!

5.00João was absolutely wonderful. SO kind, informed, funny, engaging and knowledgeable. Absolutely fantastic with accommodating both big and small needs of our little group. Such a phenomenal story teller and he connected to our child, our college age daughter and us older folks too. I think our tour was the best I’ve ever been on IN MY WHOLE LIFE! I cannot recommend enough to convey how delightful he made Lisbon for my family and I. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️🤩🤩🤩
