Marvel at the striking Lucerne Railway Station, renowned for its magnificent entrance hall and sleek curved roof, a masterpiece crafted by the acclaimed architect Santiago Calatrava. As you stroll past the station, then you'll encounter the enchanting Chapel Bridge (Kapellbrücke) and Water Tower, dating back to the 14th century, making it Europe's oldest covered wooden footbridge. Along the Reuss River promenade, discover the Jesuit Church (Jesuitenkirche), an impressive baroque-style church steeped in history. Continuing your exploration through the well-preserved lanes of the Old Town. Your guided tour culminates at Lucerne's poignant Dying Lion monument, a somber sculpture paying tribute to the Swiss Guards who perished during the French Revolution in Paris in 1792.

Chapel Bridge

You will admire every single moment walking over Europe’s oldest surviving wooden bridge dating back to the 14th century. This pedestrian bridge contains several paintings dating back to the 17th century. A part of this flourishing bridge was partially destroyed by fire caused in 1993, but was rebuilt later.

Continuing the trip through Lucerne’s well-preserved roads in the Old Town, which will definitely astonish the tourists from all around the world. Reclining between the city hall and the Chapel Bridge. After finishing the walking tour, you can enjoy sitting in one of the wild variety restaurants with a beautiful view over Lake Lucerne.

Beyond a fabulous experience! We spent 2 days driving from Zurich to Mount Pilatus and Lucerne and the second day to Mount Titlus and Interkocken. Paul was our guide and provided endless historical knowledge from the area. Beautiful car and everything in time and relaxing. The scenery was gorgeous! Payam picked us up in Zurich our 3rd day to travel to Basel. He turned us on to several unique spots that we will remember forever. 10/10 experience!

Kayleigh was our guide this morning for a two hour walking tour of Lucerne. As with all employees of AlpExcursions, she promptly met us at the designated location. Kayleigh’s walking tour was outstanding. We covered many of Lucerne’s historic landmarks and its old town area. Kayleigh is a Canadian who moved to Switzerland five of so years ago, but her knowledge of Lucerne was at the level of a native. She has a fun and energetic personality and it was a great pleasure to spend a couple of hours with her. This walking tour was our second of our trip to Switzerland. Both guides were provided by AlpExcursions which is highly recommended to all.
