Maya Bay
Phi Phi Island Tour’s first glimpse of magic - Maya Bay Phi Phi Maya Bay has been a "must sightseeing location" for hordes of Thailand tourists for decades and as such, has suffered from its overuse. Thankfully the National Park prohibited from 2018 to the end of 2021, any boat from dropping anchor in the bay and alighting at the beach, to allow the gorgeous coral island treasures, wildlife and environment time to recover. You will be one of the first boats to arrive and this awe inspiring bay to enjoy placing the first footprints of the day into it's fine white sand. ***During the months of August and September, the Phi Phi National Park closes Maya Bay to tourists to allow some annual rejuvenation to the ecosystem. This speed boat trip to the islands was an amazing experience from start to finish. The ride was exciting yet comfortable, with beautiful views all along the way. A special mention goes to Di, whose professionalism truly stood out. Di and the crew were well-organized, knowledgeable, and made everyone feel safe and relaxed throughout the journey. Everything was handled smoothly, showing real experience and care. Di’s attention to detail and friendly attitude added a personal touch that made the trip even more enjoyable. It wasn’t just a boat ride, but a well-planned and memorable island adventure. Highly recommended for anyone looking to explore the islands with a professional and reliable team.

This tour was nothing short of amazing! Got picked up at our hotel (5am) and driven to the marina, where they served breakfast. At about 6 we took off. The crew introduced themselves and told us what to expect. A shoutout to Simba 7 and our wonderful, sunray of a guide; Sarah! <3 Then it was fullspeed straight out into the open ocean; windy, noisy and wonderful. Full speed until the sun cracked the horizon, then the driver stopped. There we were in the middle of nowhere, in complete silence, watching the sun come up all the way. Amazing! Then it was full speed to Maya Bay and ‘The Beach’. Smart to go early, because the huge crowds are coming in. Then it was swimming in the Blue Lagoon, a stop by Monkey Island and two different stops for snorkelling. Then on the way back we stopped at a little island to lounge on the beach. We got fed water, fresh fruit, soft drinks and lovely springrolls during the tour. Then back at the marina they’d set up a lovely thai buffet. After we’d eaten, the driver took us back to our hotel. We sat up front in the boat, which I think was the best seats. So if you have the opportunity: GO! An absolutely amazing day! Thank you, Sarah & Simba!

Joseph and the crew were fantastic. We had a great time on the speedboat sitting in the front watching the sun rise and as the islands went by while catching the waves. It was a very early start at 4:30 am when we were collected from our hotel with the actual tour starting at 6 but it was so worth it to see the sunset and to avoid all crowds in Maya Bay. There was about 12 people on the speedboat with us and it was absolutely perfect, did not feel tight or overcrowded. We started the morning with a light breakfast prior to departing the Marina, we then had some snacks with tea/coffee in Maya Bay, soft drinks and fruit were provided on board. We went for a swim in Pileh Bay which was absolutely stunning, then we went to monkey beach, but it wasn't really a beach it was more like monkeys climbing the rocks by the water but was still really cool to see so many monkeys in one spot. We snorkeled in two locations and saw many marine life (fish, jelly fish, sea urchins, sea snake) and then we stopped for some relaxation time on a private beach. The water was very clear and the coconuts tasty. We then ended our tour with delicious food back at the marina. In total the tour lasted for 8 hours. Overall we were extremely happy with this tour and would highly recommend to anyone looking for a tour from Phuket. It was definitely worth the money.

I heard the Maya Island, where the movie The Beach was filmed, can get extremely crowded, so I looked for an early departure tour company. (I am reviewing this tour company in detail, for those of you just wanted a quick summary, you can skipped to the end.) The Simba Sea Trips company had such a tour and it was billed as Luxury Small Group. It was more expensive than many of the other tours, cost around $151 USD atbut I thought having the beach "by ourselves" is a worthy experience. The Tour company is well organized, sent me an email on time of pick up the afternoon before the trip. The driver was very on time, the van was large, modern, and comfortable. There were only 2 other people in the van which holds probably about 12 to 13. When arrived at the Simba Sea Trips office marina, the check in process was rapid, and there was a light breakfast of coffee, some fruits, bread, hard boiled eggs, yogurt, and cookies. Everyone was offered a chance to go to restroom before going on board. Our guide Noi Noi was nice, personable, humorous, gave precise instructions, and we got on the boat. There were 3 similar boats that holds about 20-25 people each, and we had a group about 18. It took an hour to get to Maya Beach, and it was beautiful. The tour company and Noi Noi offered stick rice, coffee on the beach as well as straw mats. I was quite surprised at 7 AM or so, there were probably about more than 500 people already on the beach. Many people setting up their Iphone tripods and taking selfies, although there were some places that you can take a picture without people walking into the picture. The number of people keep increasing, and there was a sign on the way to the beach that reminded people to queue up on the raised boardwalk, which is a little scary as I am sure it can get easily more crowded. The departure was a mad scene of multiple boats in and out of a floating dock. The next stop was a swimming cove spot, then to a snorkeling spot, then to another near-beach area for snorkeling. The boat provided for all the snorkeling equipment and there were nice equipment. The spots were all very pretty, water was turquoise clear and warm. The tropical fish were abundant. The tour guide actually got into the water with us, which is pretty dedicated. The last spot was a "private beach", on a nice island. We stayed for about 1 hour, where the beach chairs were included, but not the beer. With and after each spot, then tour guide offered us cold soft drinks or water, fresh fruitss, snacks, all included. Noi Noi also gave us clear instructions on timing, some humorous explanations. He was helpful and caring. In summary, the Luxuary Tour was in fact much above average. It's clear that this tour company took the time and effort to trsin their staff, give everyone a caring and very well treated experience. No nickeling and diming (they made every effort to provide for drinks and food and made it clear alcohol was not included). The smaller group size really helps. The early departure at 6 AM, is helpful to beat some crowds. But the crowds on Maya Beach was still substantial. The swimming and snorkeling experience were great to enjoy the crystal clear beautiful blue warm water of Phuket. I would highly recommend this tour company.

The sunrise tour is probably the best tour to do with Simba Sea Trips. They provide snacks throughout the trip, which are much appreciated since there’s a lot of swimming involved. Arriving at Maya Bay early was a huge highlight—we got there before the crowds, making the experience smooth and unforgettable. The staff was incredibly friendly, and D was an excellent tour guide. They provided mats and food when we arrived at Maya Bay and really knew how to take great photos—helping with poses as well. We were also taken to a beautiful snorkeling spot, where one of the guides actually got into the water with us and showed us around the coral, which made the experience even better. The day ended with a delicious lunch at the Soho Pool Club, and hotel pickup and drop-off were included, which was an added bonus. Highly recommend this tour for anyone visiting Phuket. Overall, it was a beautiful and educational trip that made the experience even more meaningful.

An amazing adventure! I would highly recommend this tour. This is what I came to Phuket to see. Our guide and staff were extremely helpful and well prepared for each stop. I didn't expect all the food after each stop.
