This is not just a demonstration—it is a real hands-on beekeeping experience.
At Bee Love Farm, you will wear a professional beekeeping suit, open a working hive, hold frames covered with bees, and discover the hidden world inside a colony together with a local beekeeper.
Unlike larger commercial tours, groups are kept small, allowing for a personal and interactive experience where every guest can ask questions, participate, and get close to the bees.
You will taste local Azorean honey and bee products, create your own beeswax candle, and learn how bees contribute to the unique landscape and biodiversity of São Miguel.
The combination of authentic beekeeping, local products, personal guidance, and direct contact with the bees creates an experience that many guests describe as one of the highlights of their visit to the Azores.

What To Expect
Magical World of Beekeeping – Bee Love Farm Experience Step into the fascinating world of bees and discover authentic farm life on the beautiful island of São Miguel, Azores. During this hands-on experience, you will meet a local beekeeper, learn about the importance of bees in nature, and explore the daily work behind sustainable beekeeping. Wearing full protective clothing, you will visit a working apiary, observe a real beehive from up close, and have the opportunity to hold frames covered with thousands of bees under professional guidance. Enjoy a tasting of Azorean honey and other bee products, including pollen, propolis, royal jelly, and honey liqueur. You will also create your own beeswax candle to take home as a special souvenir. This experience combines nature, education, local culture, and authentic farm life, making it ideal for families, couples, and curious travelers looking for something truly unique on São Miguel.

5.00The bee farm tour was fun and knowledgeable. I visited with my family and no one had ever been to a bee farm before, so it was really enjoyable and not ordinary experience. We dressed up in a beekeepers gear ( that was fun too) and went to see inside the beehive, was able to hold the bees. They have many different products, not only the honey which is delicious by the way. I do strongly recommend that experience.

5.00This beefarm tour was amazing Peter and his partner were super nice and knowledgeable, we learnt a lot about bees, beekeeping and Azores climate and issues facing beefarms. The tasting was really good and being able to handle the bees was a great expérience! We got to see a bee hatching and a queen bee, very special. Would definitely recommend!

5.00We came for a family trip and chose a workshop on the work of a beekeeper, the smell of honey, pollen and propolis will stay with us for a long time. a very nice experience, a must-see during your stay in the Azores. We bought amazing wax wraps for kids.

It is always fascinating to see how our colleagues in different parts of the world care for their bees and manage their apiaries. My visit to this wonderful place in the Azores was truly special. We were welcomed with such warmth and kindness that it felt like visiting an old friend. What made this visit unforgettable: Heartfelt Hospitality: From the moment we arrived, we felt at home. The passion for beekeeping here is truly inspiring. Exchange of Traditions: We shared gifts and stories from our own Lithuanian beekeeping heritage, creating a beautiful bond between our countries. A "Table Education": We had an incredible tasting session where we sampled honeys from all over the world, brought by previous beekeeping friends. It was a true masterclass in flavors and textures! 5.00I joined Peter’s Magical World of Beekeeping experience on São Miguel and it turned out to be far more meaningful than I expected. What really stayed with me was when he shared that he kept an injured queen bee alive instead of replacing her. That moment showed a level of care and respect that made the whole experience feel genuine, not just educational. Peter clearly knows his craft, and the hive visit feels real without being overwhelming. He also showed the same care toward people—helping sunburned guests with natural bee products after the tour. On top of that, he patiently answered all kinds of questions, which made the whole experience even more engaging. The tasting adds a lot, and I’ve actually been buying his honey for quite some time at the Santana market, along with candles I still use during the rainy São Miguel winter. Overall, it’s a thoughtful, well-grounded experience that leaves you with a real appreciation for beekeeping.

5.00Very good time spent with Peter and his bees. Beautiful discovery of beekeeping with someone passionate about his profession. Very well equipped and therefore well protected, we were able to open a hive and discover all the fabulous work done by the bees. Peter is exciting and passionate. It was a real pleasure to spend time chatting with him and learning so much.Feel free to visit him and taste the honey, you will not be disappointed Celine and Patrice.
