Sultanahmet Meydani
The ancient Hippodrome of Constantinople, now located in Istanbul, Turkey, was a significant public area in the Byzantine capital. Established in the 3rd century by the Roman Emperor Septimius Severus, it was extensively enlarged and embellished by Constantine the Great in the early 4th century. The Hippodrome served as the center of Byzantine public life for over a thousand years, hosting chariot races, celebrations, riots, and political events. The Hippodrome's U-shaped track and tiered seating could accommodate tens of thousands of spectators, showcasing the city's love for chariot racing, which was the most popular sport of the Byzantine era. Several monumental structures and statues adorned the spina, the central divider of the race track, including the Serpent Column, the Obelisk of Thutmose III, and the Walled Obelisk.
Walled Obelisk
The Walled Obelisk, also known as the Masonry Obelisk, is one of the ancient monuments that still stand in the former Hippodrome of Constantinople, now Sultanahmet Square, in Istanbul, Turkey. Unlike the Egyptian Obelisk of Thutmose III, which is also located in the Hippodrome, the Walled Obelisk is not made of a single piece of stone. Instead, it is constructed from roughly cut stones, which is why it is often called the Masonry Obelisk.

A fantastic evening and sunset Bosphorus cruise! The boats are beautiful and so luxurious and we saw a lot of the European and Asian sides, things that would be hard to visit to as a tourist here. The staff were very friendly and we enjoyed the snacks/ drinks. They even can pick you up and drop you off to your hotel after!

Sunset yacht tour on the bosphorus was excellent. berry friendly staff, plenty of snacks and drinks and amazing views. best of all was the tour guide (didn't catch his name) but he had a great dry sense of humor which kept the trip very entertaining for us. our hotel was somewhat far from the pier but the tour company sent a shuttle for us and took us back after the tour. We visited in January which made the sunset tour very cold once the sun went down and even though they provide small blankets and have a heater in the cabin of the boat, I recommend wearing very warm clothing and gloves if you want to experience the open air.

The views and overall experience has been wonderful. I would repeat it a thousand times and recommend it to anyone who goes to Istanbul. Also, we were late for traffic and were very attentive with us.
